Say what you will say about Kalos, but the fact that most of the rivers seemed to link up with each other, and they all appeared to logically originated from the snowy eastern mountains, was cool as shit

Kalos appreciation thread?
I liked how they realized Lumiose is too big and put three pokecenters in it.
>>26812634
I like that the Halloween/Fairy areas are right next to each other. Gives you a concentrated burst of supernatural.
>>26812737
You mean the swamp south of Laverre? Yeah. That abandoned playground is top tier. I actually like all those small details they have around Lumiose. The playground, the skate park, and the fishing docks are really neat and give a sense of realism of a "bigger Lumiose".

I'd like to visit that snowy forest behind Abomasnow Mountain.

I love this area in Kalos, probably one of my favourite areas of the entire series.

Post yfw Sun/Moon lets you go back to Kalos with fully surfable rivers
>>26813426
>Route 7
>>26812634
I never noticed.
>>26811805
All regions (except Hoenn probably) have their rivers start from the mountains and line up on the map.
>>26814335
Yeah, but Kalos' are just so expansive and everywhere. Almost all the routes have a place where you can see a river/water.
>>26811805
That's cool anon, too bad the climate doesn't make sense
>>26812634
That's not for simplicity, it's because the rest of its closed when you first enter
>>26814494
>Kalos will never have seasons
>you will never surf route 17's melted glacier ravines
>you will never slide across the frozen swamplands of route 19
>you will never stroll along the pure white blanket covered gardens of route 4
>>26813105
I need to replay x&y. I forgot just how toptier the music is.
>>26814583
Yes my friend, you do.

That's probably one of the best tracks, the rest isn't too hotI was actually disappointed how boring I found it replaying it, I used to defend it too
>>26814596
There's nothing wrong with that. XY certainly have their strong points alongside their weak ones. Take Sycamore's theme for example, it's good.
>>26814615
Theme wise it's fine. Just the whole game felt very average and took no risks or is really memorable
>start game in the normal routes, spring
>move onto the costal and warm routes, summer
>next the routes with dying leaves, autumn
>then the routes with snow, winter
>finally the normal routes once more, spring again
I always loved the seasons of traverse in Kalos
>>26814629
I've always preferred Unova's seasons and route changes
>>26814629
Wait, so is Kalos the only game with a canon time period? Like, the whole journey took place in a year?
>>26814654
It supposed to be the "climate" of the region, Unova actually changes seasons
>>26814654
well that's a headcanon way of looking at it
it was most likely meant to be an aesthetic progression though, not a literal one
>>26814629
This. They really made the transition well, and the Pokemon distribution was great for each season. Kalos is one of my favorite regions for that reason; it was so comfy.
>>26814690
It was pretty obvious that it was supposed to be the seasons. Just about everybody noticed it.
>>26814706
I didn't. That stretch between Anistar and Snowbelle really faked me out. You go snow > no snow > snow again.
>>26814706
a year long time lapse is never mentioned once in the actual plot. Or any time lapse for that matter.
like I said it's one of those things that's a good headcanon to have, but it's not really official. go ahead and believe it's what happened if you want. I do too.
This is a map I made a while ago
