I'd play XY or ORAS if I were you. Both if you can afford it. XY because it's the most recent and shows you a bit of what to expect.

ORAS uses new mechanics but is a remake and so you get some extra features you may not see in Sun/Moon. (Specifically secret bases come to mind.)

You'll need a 3DS for Sun/Moon anyway, so it's not like you'd need a new system.

Play BW1, it's the closest you'll get to playing RB again. It has it's own 151 and old pokes don't show up until after the league.

Playing any newer game first will probably keep you from getting the most out of the last gen GF actually tried on.

Play in this order:
>BW -> BW2 -> XY (if you still need more)

Just know that Psychic-types are heavily nerfed by Dark and Steel types. Also Bugs and Ghosts have become drastically better.

Ditto with Dragons. The new Fairy type trumps it, but at least it gives Poison something to do.
