Yeah, I find that tablets are really hard to use as well. They're slightly easier to work with if they've got screens, but I find measuring with rulers on paper to achieve certain angles or measurements less of a hassle.

I personally have a tablet w/o a screen, they're waaay cheaper, and not as hard to use as you may think. If you do get one without a screen, use it instead of a mouse for a while, to help you get used to looking at the monitor instead of where your hand is.
