I'd consider the black one if it was more similar to the XT ones, with the XY and superimposed on the top hinge and the starters on the bottom half. That would look nice

That's fair, but as a counterargument, I'll point out that it only takes $20 to replace either of the screens on a 2DS (with the caveat that if either goes the whole thing goes), while a 3DS and a 3DS XL both cost about that much for EACH screen and are much harder to access and easier to fuck up on repair.

The 2DS is a worthwhile investment for people that tend to be in a position to damage their system.
