So far I really like all of them except for the koala, Yungoos, and Magearna. I didn't care for Popplio at first but I think it was the unflattering angle in the starter select screen -- it looks fine now.

The koala would be nice were it not for the white puffs on its face. Yungoos's teeth are too exposed which throws me off. And I just don't really like Magearna in general.

Overall this gen looks really cool ! The only problem I got is that Yangoose's artwork looks like a promo artwork for the anime, but it looks better ingame (Like Zygarde's forms)

Wank-dog is amazing but will evolve into trash.

Rowlett and Litten are ok but Litten will probably evolve into overdesigned trash. Poplio is meh but will probably have the most bearable final evo.

Other than the X/Y bird the regional birds are basically the same to me so who cares, the weasel thing looks like the artist let their child draw the mouth on and will almost definitely evolve into something with ridiculous hair. Bug thing is ok, koala is ok, legendaries barely look like pokemon but who cares.

They're simple, cute, and have a lot of potential for cool evolutions.
I like em all so far, even Popplio.

Legendaries have that legendary feel, very detailed and strong looking, only one I'm iffy about is Magearna but I'm sure it'll grow on me soon.

Starters are ultra-simple and not terribly interesting, but as stage-one starter pokemon that's not terribly new. Still, I'll probably box them unless one of them somehow manages a great final evo.

Rock dog looks okay, but I don't know if I'll have it on my team. Again, it depends on if they do anything interesting for the final evo.

Bird is absolutely adorable and has a great ability. 10/10 will be an excellent replacement for my starter.

The mongoose is genuinely the worst pokemon I've ever seen. It makes Litten look creative, and that's REALLY saying something.

Grubbin is cute, but another electric/bug type seems repetitive when there are so many other more interesting types it could be. Plus, it's probably just another "early game early-evolving bug" that isn't very strong or useful after the first gym or so.

Sleepy Koala is cute, and has a neat gimmick. Evolution might be cool. Will probably keep a spot for it on my team.

The box legendaries look fucking awful. They were obviously designed solely with the logos in mind. The typings are shit, and neither really look that celestial (besides being shaped like the sun/the moon).

Magearna is excellent. Cute, detailed design that avoids being overly complex and ugly (like the other two legendaries).

All in all, I give the gen so far a 5/10. I'm still worried for the rest of the generation's pokemon, but I haven't completely lost faith yet.

I can honestly say I'm happy with every new Pokemon that's been presented so far.

I can tell Pikipek is going to be a physical mon with moves to exploit skill link. It's basically confirmed it gets bullet seed.

Donald Trump mongoose is interesting. Not sure what stake out is but stong jaw is a good ability. It'll be the Bunnelby of this gen. Glad GF is giving its early route Pokemon decent abilities.

Grub guy is cool. He's going to end up being part electric for sure if its description is any indication. Hopefully it'll get a better ability than swarm when it evolves.

It's been confirmed that we're getting over 100 new Pokemon which is exciting. We should all be excited, guys.
