I really wonder if these are hand drawn sprites or pre rendered ones. Would be kinda nice to have sprites back at a place where they still actually work well.
They're just pose models, its not artwork.
It's the model doing a pose, guys. It's mid-attack, and we've already seen this animation from behind when it was using Leafage.

Pretty sure these are just rendered stills of the models. ORAS had them too, only they weren't in dynamic poses, just stills.

I think one of the design themes of Alola is pattern overload. Just look at the health bar. It's unnecessary but pretty exciting. I like it because it's a bit uncommon to see things like that nowadays.
Maybe the design theme of gen 8 will be minimalist and all the redditfags will call it a design masterpiece.
