Requesting any snowy or wintery scenes senpai
It's funny how we all have different definitions of comfy, isn't it? I like scenes depicting the world of Pokemon more than the people in it that invoke a sense of wonder and (debatably) peace, but some people like things like this (which I saved because it was just that good), invoking a sense of danger and awe. Funny old world, isn't it?
>>26682932
I'll post what I have. It's not much, but we'll see.
Who /nofriends/ here?
>>26682932
>>26682932
Aaand those three are all the winter wonderland I have. I tried, senpai.
You know, I'm planning on taking a trans-continental (US, Chicago area to the west coast) bike trip next summer. I was originally planning on taking Pokemon Go and making it into a "Trainer's journey" thing. Pity Go's so shit - how am I supposed to raise my bros when I can't train them in battle and they all get fused together?
>>26682940
Yeah. Thats why these are my favorite threads. It really highlights how many different people can find enjoyment in pokemon.
There arent many franchises that can appeal to the same huge demographic it has; from super casual to obsesive hardcore it has a bit for eveyone.

Exactly. Personally, I like PMD just for the untamed wilderness, and Johto and the Unova of BW2 are my favorite regions - yes, Unova in BW1 was linear as fuck, but BW2 had some exploration in it, and it still had the sense of travelling somewhere new and (mostly) unexplored, like hiking in a national park.

Well I think that's only because we blanket the word "comfy" over all these different feelings. When I first saw these threads I didn't consider "comfy" being the right word for what I was feeling, but I just went along with it because I had nothing better. What I think these threads really do is show how much we admire the pokemon world. I mean, I like travelling and the idea of the pokemon world being so peaceful makes me love it even more. The fact that I can just go all around the region, and even to others, makes me so full of "comfyness". I just wish it would be that east in real life but it's not. There are different currencies, budget, travel time. None of these exist in pokemon as an obstacle, and that's one of reasons I love it so much. I can hardly wait to explore Alola now that it's gotten even less grid-based movement, making it feel more realistic than previous ones.
>>26682955
In comfy threads we're all friends
>>26683904
Oh, and I forgot to add that even the battling is peaceful! It's what sets it apart from almost every other rpg. Since pokemon and humans coexist, literally everything is friendly and has no reason to kill you (well, for the most part at least). The fact that you can still enjoy the peacefulness yet there still exists outlets for adrenaline makes it seem like such a utopia.
i want to go swimming with water type pokemon. anyone up for it?
>>26683071
Do you happen to have more urban pictures like that? The modern/metropolitan Pokeworld is one of the comfiest things I've ever experienced. For some reason I tear up when I hear the Castelia theme, it's so good.

When you're a kid and you love Pokemon, that's just because you're a kid.
But when you're an adult, still posting on Pokemon discussion boards, still waiting for leaks, still obsessed with Pokemon... well, that's only got one explanation. You're not happy with the real world. You crave an escape. I crave it too.
Together we are in solidarity, brothers. In our loneliness we have found a common outlet, and ironically a community.
Thank you for being here for me. Through divorce, getting laid off, tragedy, mental health crises, the whole way. I owe you as a community more than I could ever pay. I'm here for you, too, when the time comes.
You wanna be the very best, vp?

Goddamn. I know there are series out there with more expansive lore and more detail, but god there's something special about the pokemon world that makes me want to experience it more than anything.
Undeserved infamy aside, I really like all Lavender themes, from RBY to HGSS. The earlier ones are more somber but the new ones are hopeful and soothing, both really fitting.

Life goes on, it's what life's best at. I know sometimes it hurts. Sometimes, you'll wake up thinking that it isn't fair, that the world should have ended with her. But the world continues to spin no matter how many people leave it, and all we can do is keep spinning with it and wait for it to turn our way.
I always forget that Shuckle is a bug type.
In case this thread dies, thank you all. I feel a bit better. These kind of threads should happen more often.
Comfy threads bring out the best in /vp/, I think. I'm so happy every time I am able to partake in them. I sometimes do honestly get a little saddened that I live where I live, and that I can't /go/ to the Pokemon world -- it seems so idyllic. Even if that's really sad on my part, it's still the truth. The real world is a mess and it seems like things go from bad to worse endlessly. But these threads are a haven against the headaches of life, if only for a day or two.
You are all wonderful. Even though we're just anons floating in a sea of faces, I appreciate knowing you in the capacity I'm able. Thanks for making these threads what they are.

What would you do in another life, comfyanons?
The pokemon world seems so effortlessly adventurous, it's enviable. Telling stories while you eat dinner around a campfire with companionable strangers and your Pokemon... there's a sense of adventure, but it's so damn peaceful. It just seems so free.
I want to adventure like that, just travel and explore with companions I know I can trust and rely on, but the real world is expensive and full of drama and danger, and traveling is such a pain in the ass between countries -- and honestly, it's a little scary, too.
Just late-night wishful thinking. Comfy threads do that to me, but I love them nonetheless.

It's comfy in itself, and you double up with productive escapism into that world of purity. You're practically cheating.
Who's your pillow /vp/?
>>26693158
I used to write, a while ago. I've just wound up not doing it anymore, like a lot of things in my life. I want to write, but there's not enough time in the day and my motivation has been just drained from the general stresses of life in the last few months. It's also physically painful to write/type (or do just about anything) after an injury fucked up my wrist, but that's another matter.
I lay in bed and daydream a story before I go to sleep, though. It helps me fall asleep and I've done it for so long that I don't know how to do anything else. Maybe that's silly of me, but it's just what I do.
Speaking of, I should really get to sleep myself. Night anons.
This thread made me shed a tear. Thank you all.

I would probably settle in a comfy town such as Pacifidlog or Solaceon and chill there for a few months before resuming my journey.
Companions would be a fluffy Altaria I could cuddle on and a Fennekin to keep as my "pikachu". Maybe a Lapras to surf.
>>26693402

So if you had to settle in a city/town within the pokemon world for at least a year, what place would you anons choose?

Living in harmony with the Pokemon around me sounds wonderful. I'd travel from town to town, to region to region, and try to take in as much of the culture of each as I can. I don't know what I would do beyond that. Maybe open a little trailer somewhere selling Poffins or something. I like to cook, and it just seems like a way to make a living in a world like that.
I want to go swim and dive and surf with my Pokemon. I want to catch a Wailord and travel the oceans with them. I want to go backpacking through the wilderness and make friends with bug-types. I want to fly in the sky with my Pokemon and be terrified of the exhilarating heights. I want to meet other trainers and swap stories and battles, to see how other people live and train their 'mons and what their plans are. I want to try a Contest, and visit PokeStar Studios.
And more than all of that, I just want some traveling bros to settle down with on cold nights by a fireplace and write in my journal before falling asleep. I don't so much want to do anything, as I want to do everything.
>>26698127

>>26700225
Just make a few friends and go out there to see the world. The issue is, in real life, there's no way I could go wandering around on foot and bicycle - the world's far too well-explored, and far too unfriendly. The Pokemon world is different. It's commonly accepted to befriend a Pokemon and start wandering the world, getting stronger, making new friends, and seeing life as it comes. To see the grass blur by from the back of an Arcanine, to twist and dive in the skies clinging to a Noivern's ruff, to wonder at the watery depths illuminated by a Lanturn, to scramble through the cave where a Larvitar made its home...that kind of exploration is my dream, and it's why I've fallen in love with the Pokemon world.

If the world ever becomes like it is in Pokemon, I hope I meet you and we can travel together with our friends. At the same time though, out there in our world that we already know are things that were missed by those who first looked over them; we might discover something new and amazing just by being there at a time when the others before us were not. Have faith, brave explorer: adventure and friendships await you, in and beyond the tall grass.

Arcanine. Who wouldn't want to bury their face in that neck floof?
>>26692404
>drama and danger prevents exploration
That, I think, is the main draw of the Pokemon world. There's nothing stopping you - and, in fact, it's encouraged - to find a Pokemon, make a dear friend, and go out to see the world. I'd do exactly that, and spend a year or two seeing the world - maybe even make a living at it - before returning somewhere I've found in my wanderings to settle down and let my friends relax.
Question for all the comfyanons here: Who would your bros be? Would you have a full team of mighty warriors, a few NFE friends, or something in between?
>>26710918
A mixed bag, mostly.
It's unsurprisingly hard to narrow down a team of six from over 700 but Farfetch'd, Sylveon and Persian are guaranteed to be in. The others it would come down to who I find first.
