GF has never cared too much about releasing a new game on the previous handheld when a new handheld is already out. I could see it happening in late 2017.
Though we know GameFreak loves to be special snowflakes about how they release things, so who knows.

megas cause more open problems than solutions. They will be reconned in favor of a single, stat boosting held item.
Mega stones will just begin to clutter the item bags. designing megas just takes time away from designing new pokemon. Pokemon that actually NEED the stat boost from a mega, arent prioritized, see flygon. Flygon a gen 3 dragon that is horrible stat wise compared to its other dragons and garchomp a similar typing dragon needed the stats from a mega, but was denied one because sugimori and his team couldnt make a proper design for the pokemon. Needless to say there will be countless pokemon that need a stat boost but wont get megas because the design team cant make a proper design. So instead we will see a temporary stat boosting item. to be held by the pokemon.

These remakes will be even shittier than ORAS without the Platinum improvements.

They will maybe make a third version os SM but no remake. That one is for the next gen of consoles or maybe the NX if it ends up being an hybrid between a handheld and home console

If it's a 1:1 DP remake with no bits from Platinum, like ORAS didn't include Emerald stuff, then I'm going to be disappointed.
Otherwise yeah, I'm super psyched for Sinnoh remakes
