There is absolutely no reason to assume that Sun and Moon will have less than 100 new Pokemon.
Odd gens always add an abundance of new Pokemon and EVERY even generation has had less than 100 original Pokemon that aren't cross-gen evos or megas. X/Y are literally nothing new.

I think it's probably the aftermath of gen 6 tbf and whilst I personally think the games look absolutely fine so far, this board just seems to be entirely apprehensive and cynical about everything right now.

Here's the thing: I really want this game to be good, but my hype died down a bit when I saw older gen Pokes. I just want a Pokemon game with exclusively new Pokemon. If you want the old mons, trade em from XY. Seeing old mons ruins my immersion.

Pretty sad to see dead hype around here; I'm pretty excited myself.

-Characters so far mostly look bland like we've come to expect as of late

-Hints of less new pokemon but this is just speculation as of now

We haven't seen a whole lot yet; particularly new Pokemon, but I'm excited for the potential in new stuff. The fanbase here on /vp/ gets older each day while the Pokemon company continues to target the same age group they did in 1996-8. I stick around for the gameplay and new mons. XY had good quality mons despite the lower number so I'm fine with a potentially similar number so long as the designs continue to be appealing.
