For what purpose? The amount of money GameFreak and nintendo leave on the table despite squeezing it out in other areas is pretty mind boggling.

I mean, why pay money if the dex's information can be found elsewhere very easily? Presumably any kids who may have wanted the app also had main series games, and at that point their parents would rather not pay another cent for an inferior application.
