Hmmm... I've been thinking, /vp/
There was a post around here somewhere yesterday about how all the Pokémon profs studied something that was major\new in the games.
Elm studied breeding patterns, Rowan studied evolution patterns, Sycamore studied Mega Evolution... and so on.
They mentioned Kukui as studying pokémon moves, and asked how it would play out. And then it hit me!
The recent talk is about how ironic the new legendaries are, since they're weak against types that would normally be a part of their own mythology.
However, despite Solgaleo, for instance, being a steel type and the name of his move being Sunsteel Strike, it still shows up as a sun in the background.
Ignoring the whole "stars have a core of iron and produce metals" spiel just for the sake of this... what if the new feature is double-typed moves? What if Sunsteel Strike isn't just a physical steel move, but a physical Fire\Steel move?
What if that is what Kukui is studying, and how much of an impact do you think it would have in combats from now on?
Please keep in mind this is just a random idea.
And excuse the shit image, just illustrating how Solgaleo could use fire moves too...

There was already a dual type move in Gen 6, Flying Press...adding a few more probably wouldn't really change much. Sunsteel Strike is will probably end up Steel/Fire. Maybe the starters will have a signature dual type move too at most...I just don't think they're going to focus too much on it.

>Flying Press
Good point... Though maybe they liked it a lot that they're either making more of them or just making them official, not just saying it's a dual-type in the description...

The neutral hit sound played when Salamence was attacked by Sunsteel Strike. It's not part-Fire.

FUCKING OVERKILL
Sunsteel Strike is Steel/Fire
Moongeist Beam is Ghost/Fairy
Magical Leaf becomes Grass/Fairy
Muddy Water becomes Water/Ground
Elemental Punches become Type/Fighting
The core of planets are metal, the core of stars have lighter matter such hydrogen which fuses and when runs out the star collapses

Unless it's Fire/Rock

/threadAlso, checked

>'Sunsteel Strike'
>Rock type
Yeah, anon. Great theory.

Maybe they're finally combining Rock, Ground and Steel into one 'Mineral' type to compensate for adding Sound and Cosmic types?

But does Tri Attack become Electric/Fire/Ice?
>>26614504
>Fire Punch
>Fire/Fighting attack
RIP Bisharp I guessOh lawd, I hope they don't add a Steel/Ice type with this

And where do you think all that came from? Stars made it.
