Had to take a break from smeargle hatching, so last night I tried DexNav for the first time and found a calm shiny eevee with 31 HP, it doesn't feel as good as hatcing but at least I can... Uh, contest with it. I guess

As far as Giratina, I was recommended to use a Mega Pinsir w/ False Swipe, but if you don't have one, a Smeargle with Soak, Spore, False Swipe and I suppose Swords Dance/Heal Pulse (just in case as far as the latter) should work.

Just got this Shiny Vanillite, my first Shiny through the Masuda method. Took me between 40 and 50 eggs (lost a bit the count cause I sent my first few hatches through the Wonder Trade and forgot to write the amount down).

Technically, with the charm, it should be once every 613 eggs. That's the ideal chances, anyway. In practice, it can always vary. As you more Masuda Methods, you should see your average fluctuate closer to and around that. Not in any distinct way, as you'd have to do hundreds and thousands of MMs to see it properly average, and there's no guarantee it won't take over 1000 every time. That's just how statistics and probability works.

I've closing in on twice the "average" amount myself at the moment. But I've consistently hit under it the last few hunts. Back and forth. My average before this run was every 303 eggs or so. Even if my very next egg was the shiny, my current run would bump that up to 415. About one third of the eggs I've hatched for ALL my Gen 6 MMs have been taken up by this one run.

Ditto makes it easier to breed, that's sort of the point. There's plenty of times you have to use Ditto for genderless mons, so it'd be super annoying if it was less likely to MM them just because you literally can't use the same species or Egg group. We already have a benefit to not using ditto, it's the usual bonus to egg generation, if I recall. Not much, but I don't think it has to be. Ditto only became a the go to breeder for everything because people generated a lot of Foreign, 6IV Ditto to use. Normally, it's not like that.

Even if we're talking about on the MM end and especially around here, I don't think it's worth it. I don't use 6IV Dittos myself, but I don't think that kind of specific, meta targeted rule really fits. Especially considering what I said above about when you need to use Ditto. You might as well make it "6IV Ditto breeding has a lower chance." But what you're really saying there is "I want better hack prevention."

tl;dr rng is busted in emerald, if you get a shiny on say, frame 4000, it'll always give a shiny.

Male with perfect IVs in everything but Special attack, where he has a 13. Not great for a Modest M-Charizard Y, but better than it could be. I might try for another one once I breed a 0 Atk IV mother, but that'll be after a bit of a break.

Probably going to see if I can DexNav up some good Dittos or maybe hunt some shiny Unown. Anything but breeding for awhile.
