Every time.

Thats Gen 1 for ya
>>
>6 pokemon
trainers can have that many?
>>
Pidgeot, Alakazam, and Blastoise are aight at least
>>
>leer
>tail whip
>>
>>26596410

Huh. I always assumed Arcanine/Rhydon/Exeggutor had Flamethrower/Earthquake/Psychic.

Then again, I never got the cajones to test it firsthand back when I was playing it. I mean the game did say he beat the Elite 4, so.
>>
>>26596410
>shitty sprites
>shitty moves

Genwunners will defend this.

My first game was Yellow
>>
>Arcanine
>Level 61
>one Fire type move
>>
Looks like the movesets a 10 year old idiot would pick.
>>
>>26596410
Blue's canon starter is Venusaur, dumbass
>>
>>26596897
>Blue
>canon is Venusaur

You're so wrong I don't even know where to start
>>
>>26596536
Oh you~
>>
>>26596798
I think yellow beefed his team up
>>
>>26596897
Green (not "Blue") = Red pokemon
Red = Green pokemon
>>
>>26596858
It's Ember and note flamethrower
>>
>>26596870
>10 year old
>not picking multiple redundant STAB moves for every single slot
>>
>>26597077
>>26596897

Green is Blue
Green chose Venusaur
Blue chose Blastoise
Therefore Blue canonically chose Blastoise

IN AMERICA
>>
>>26596410
To be fair Alakazam and the starter are enough to stop most players back then, just like Cynthia with her Garchomp
>>
>>26597131
They could all be really fucking dangerous even if you just used HMs and gym TMs. Except Rhyhorn, he's kinda shit without Earthquake.
>>
>>26596410
At least the movesets were improved in Firered/Leafgreen.
>>
>>26597003
I picked Squirtle on first playthrough, so his Venusaur team had a Gyarados in it. Hyper Beam certainly hurt, but otherwise most of it was the same in subsequent playthoughs.

I mean with all his pomp and the whole "the best" business I expected a Rock Slide/Earthquake Rhydon, Exeggutor with Solarbeam, basically what we eventually got in Gen2, since those were the strongest attacks of their type during the first games. Shit, they gave his Pigeot Sky Attack, after all.

Then again, like >>26597131 said, that Alakazam was one of those in his team most likely to fuck your shit up, and in Gen1 it could probably do just that.

Yellow does beef him up somewhat. With the exception of Ninetales with its sole Fire Spin if he doesn't have Flareon, most of his team is significantly upgunned.
>>
>>26596723
>>26596410

Reminder that Whirlwind and Roar do absolutely nothing in trainer battles in gen 1.
>>
>>26596410
>GF literally just gave all of his team except his starter the moves they would know by level up
>>26596831
He also had much better movesets in Yellow, ignoring the fact that he replaced his Rhydon for a fucking Sandslash.
>>
>>26596831
>Liking Gen 1 automatically makes you a genwunner
Not a genwunner, but I like some of the classic sprites.

Wave was Magneton's signature move, bruh! It was OP as shit, and is what made Ubers a teir, that and Mewtwo.

You fukkin' Alolaglimmers don't even know what it was like back in the day.

How did he beat Lori with that team? Must have spammed Recover with Alakazam.

Maybe that is why I remember Cynthia so warmly. She wasn't good, she was just the first champ who didn't pick their pokemon's moves out of a hat.
>>

I pray for you child.

Are you guys underaged or just too stupid to understand how dubs etc. works?
>>
>>26599973
Y'know, he might have a point.

Your average 6-year old goes into Blue with a level 73 Charizard that knows Cut, Strength, Fire Blast, and Flamethrower, with no backup.

Your average 6-year old goes into Diantha with a level 70 Greninja, Charizard, Yveltal/Xerneas, Tyrantrum, and two other shits with at least one good moveset between them.

Diantha is actually easier for the intended audience.

That set is pretty much the same as Exeggutor
>>
>>26600002
Being able to steamroll him with a team of Pokemon in their late 40's doesn't make him a hard champion.
>>
>>26600162
being able to steamroll her with a team of Pokemon in their mid 70s makes her an even easier champion.
>>
>>26596410
was a consequence of the moves being auto-generated and stone evolutions not learning any attacks
exeggcute at that level would have had stun spore, poison powder, solar beam and sleep powder

granted, still a shitty moveset but at least better than that crap
>>
>>26600083
How does Whirlwind work in Stadium?
>>
>>26600196
Thats on ly if you're retarded enough to use exp share which is basically easy mode
>>

Kill yourself.
>>
>>26600305
>*huff huff* finally! I found a video of one rare occasion that a gen 1 player actually has a level 70 pokemon I can cherrypick! That'll show him!
>>
>>26600321
Someone's pissed off
>>
>>26600321
>cherrypicking only works when I do it! Haha!
And with how pathetic Blue's movesets are, he's still weaker than every other champion.

Also
>*thing*
Kill yourself.
>>
>>26600350
Except the first example isn't cherrypicking because it REALLY IS the case that most gen 1 players end up with the Pokemon in the 50s and most gen 6 players end up in the level 70s. If you deny this you're a retarded anti-genwunner.

And no, arbitrarily shooting yourself in the foot by not using the exp share doesn't count because by this logic I can't just take a gen 1 player who arbitrarily decided to avoid as many encounters as possible.
>>
>>26600364
>it's not cherrypicking because i say it isn't
Okay. Whatever dude.

I'll say what actually "most gen 1 players" did.

>have starter at level 70 with a weaker team
This is the actual truth.

Not to mention that due to their moves Blue is the only champion that can be beat with Pokemon TWENTY levels behind without any trick.
>>
>>26600364
Agreed. Even with tedious grinding, I still manage to just about always have my pokes in the 50s range when I'm facing gen 1 elite four.

One barely has to put in any effort to have a full team of 60s and 70s for the gen 6 elite four.
>>
>>26600364
what a fag
>>
>>26600381
Guess why brainiac? Becuase Exp share is your difficulty mode button. On-easy, off-more challenging.

And no you can easily defeat Blue whteher you're overleveled or underleveled. His team moveset is pure shit
>>
>>26600380
>"most gen 1 players"
>Not a full team of level 100s
>Not all starters + Mew, Mewtwo and Alakazam

Everyone I seen knew about missingno, but I'm sure most people didn't understand how your characters name influenced what pokes you'd run into.
>>
>>26600433
anon what about zapdos tho
>>
>>26600433
those rare candies made your team weak as shit tho
>>
>>26600450
I would use Zapdos when I didn't purposefully fuck up my name to get shit like Mewtwo and Alakazam to pop up.

>>26600457
I duped vitamins and used those as well. It's not like that mattered though. When you have infinite Earthquakes, Ice Beams, Thunderbolts and shit you really don't need to be much stronger.
>>
>>26597094
like we all didnt do this for red/blue?

>>
>>26596897
No, dipshit, it's Charizard. (In the manga)
>>
>>26599671
claydol has identical attack and special attack though?

>>26599954
fire spin prevents switching and prevents you from attacking. being poisoned, even regular poison, is essentially a death sentence because of how long it lasts while you can do literally nothing back.
>>
>>26602484
>zam
>thunderbolt

>>26602587
In gen 1, partial trapping moves didn't prevent you from switching out
>>
>>26602356
I think that was his point.

This was before the physical/special split, it has no special moves because they didn't exist yet.
