>implying all Sun-related Pokemon are Fire-type

Most of them aren't. There are 3 "sun pokemon": Espeon, Sunflora and Volcarona only one of them is part fire. Solrock is rock/psychic. Solar Beam is a grass move.

It just makes sense for a legendary based on the Sun would be part fire. I'm fine with the other examples.

>a legendary based on the Sun
Where do they say that?
>>26574132
Jirachi says hi.
>>26574309
It's literally the sun pokemon
>>26574386
We don't know why it's called the Sun Pokemon yet.
>>26574386
It says "Sunne" and other languages call it "solar"(while Lunala is "Moone" which other language call "Lunar") so no, it's not the Sun Pokemon. On top of that we have Volcarona and Espeon, but they aren't based on the sun.
It's description only calls it "emissary of the sun".

Sol?
>>26574031
Sol translates into Sun
Solrock is not weak against fire
Solgaleo, the legendary, is weak to fire

Shit like this is seriously splitting hairs. The other Pokemon aren't fire-type but still associated with the sun specifically due to different reasons and there are reasons Solgaleo is not Fire-type. But if someone was asked to make a pokemon that represents the sun don't act like 99% people would have assumed fire-type like it isn't a completely common concept.

That's obviously true. However Solgaleo isn't a Pokemon representing the sun so it's okay.
