but XY is also way easier than BW2 the games that came right before it
BW2 was a big step in the right direction but for some reason GF said screw that lets sprint in the exact opposite direction instead

Red and Blue are actually super easy as far as pokemon games go you just never realized how broken it was and how bad trainer movesets were back then

anyway I think kids now can handle at least BW2 level difficulty
they have easy access to way more information and knowledge than people playing gen 1 did
