Well fuck. If Gen 5 would have stuck to making unique shit through and through it would have been perfect, making parallels to gen 1 evo lines was a mistake (machop, zubat lines, hitmonlee and chan) and the garbage pokemon desiged better and icecream pokemon not existing

This, the good designs outweigh the bad. I honestly believe that it gets a lot of shit because the few bad Pokemon are so visually unappealing that most can't look past them, and can't help but berate Gen 5 for introducing such wierd looking Pokemon, even if they are in the minority.

My favorite thing about the Stoutland line is that I fucking hated the very idea of them before I got BW. In the Pre-release material I bitched how it's just a dog and useless.

5th gen had a lot of really awful designs but some absolutely amazing ones like Galvantula, Scrafty and Ferrothorn. 5th gen is where I got back into Pokemon because it was the hip thing in university and made me nostalgic. I stopped playing after 2nd gen as a kid.
