California is up there with New York City as being two of the most interesting places in this country that could make for entertaining regions.

And you KNOW Game Freak won't just copy it square for square. Did they do that with Unova? No, the were inspired but made an overly exaggerated, exciting, bright and interesting region. Just like they always do. Just because the real world equivalent doesn't seem like a region doesn't mean it can't be made into one.

Murkrows, lots of bugmons, tailow/swellows, sunkern/sunfloras, klingklangs, dittos, a lot of petmons (meowth, lillipup, arcanine, houndour, slitty, etc.) scraggy/scafty, ludicolo, exacutor (i'm sure i spelled that wrong), teddiursa,ursaring, sentret as a raccoon pokemon maybe?, koffing/weezing, spinerak/ariados...

Inland North there are shit loads of lakes, forests, tons of volcanos. Lots of tribal land, too. Plenty to work off of. HUGE Hydroelectric Dam (Pokemon lots this shit). Source: I live there. It sucks to live there but it has tons of great stuff for a Pokemon region.

In other inland places there are cool deserts and mountain ranges and having an agricultural outpost would be cool.
