Nintendo gave 3rd parties a spec list only to change it months later, reducing the Wii U's overall power buy a large amount. Games for it were already far in development and it pissed devs off. This is a bad idea on two levels.

One, Pokemon is a containment board. Pokemon has been sealed away here because if there isn't a dedicated place for it, it swamps out other boards, not unlike MLP. Making this a Nintendo board would just mean the same procedure that first separated /vp/ from /v/ would be repeated, except nintendo fans would be pissed because they don't have a home for a while, and pokemon fans are more pissed because they get kicked out of a second home. This will almost assuredly happen, Pokemon does not play well with others. It would be a less terrible idea to merge /vp/ and /mlp/ than to merge /vp/ with a hypothetical /nin/. Not that merging /vp/ with /mlp/ is a good idea, mind.

Two, Nintendo makes up at least a fourth of gaming culture, and cutting that out of /v/ would fundamentally change both the perception of /v/, as well as the perception of 4chan as a whole as a bunch of Nintendo hating (insert slur here). Separating Nintendo from gaming makes 4Chan look evenn worse than it already does, unless it makes such a board for each console. I know there are just as many Nintentards as XTards out there.

No, it wouldn't. If anything, the problem would be made worse because those who actually want that stuff would be even more vocal about it. The only difference would be that people who really don't want to see that stuff would be exposed to it. Many of the people here aren't necessarily interested in that stuff, but are so used to it that it doesn't phase them. This transition would be unfair to the more "normal" Nintendo fans.
