I'm pretty sure people are exaggerating their Rowlet love and Popplio hate for the sake of memes. Kotaku made a fucking article about how hated Popplio was, people are clearly doing it for show.

I do think Rowlet is the most popular starter of Gen 7 regardless of memes, but I'm pretty sure Smugleaf beat it out.

Honestly, what on earth were they thinking? Never before have I seen such a deliberate attempt to make a starter look stupid. Gen 1-4 and 6's starters all seemed sound, design-wise, but Popplio's design is just a gigantic fuckup.

I wanna say I liked the little fellow, but I guess I grew bored of his simplistic design. Not sure why people are high up in arms with him asides from the fact that he's cute. I know that it's a first to have another owl and a starter one at that, but still...

I'll pick Popplio for a change, I've been ignoring Water starters for far too long now. Litten's cute, but I've mostly picked Fire type starters too.

Fucking shame that one Ballio evolution might not be real, but if he were, I guess it wouldn't change much my will to pick Popplio other than "FUCKING PICK THAT MOFO HARDER THAN THE FIST OF NORTH STAR".

I want it to become a griffin.

I've been waiting for a griffin pokemon for YEARS. If it goes that way, Rowlet and its evos will be my favorite thing to come out of pokemon, hands-down.

But it probably won't happen. ;_;

I would hope it doesn't stay Grass/Flying unless its stats make it a speedy sweeper.
