I'm a fan of champions being involved in the story of the game. Starting with Lance in gen ii helping you take down Team Rocket in Mahogany, to Steven taking a vested interest in saving Hoenn from kogre/groudon, to Alder helping you track down Team Plasma in the ancient ruins and trying to defeat N himself as league champ. Cynthia did jack shit in diamond and pearl, and kinda was shoehorned in at the distortion world in platinum. Diantha has a conversation about getting old with Lysandre at the beginning of the game and then fucks off for the rest of it. Blue is still the best though. Motherfucker infiltrated a team rocket seige just to ambush you. What a dick.

Olympia. Shame a character with a cool design did very little outside of a "speaks in haiku" gimmick. Also, she needs more R34.

I'll give her credit for being the first truly diverse champion instead of 'muh FWG' shit with blue or the monotype champions, but it's a stupid team and fight. The only legitimate challenges are the milotic and Garchomp anyway.

Garchomp is the pseudo, Lucario is Lucario (and this was his very first appearance, at the time Riley's sidequest was the only way to get one), Milotic is the "contest" pokemon because of the way it evolves, Spiritomb has that crazy underground shit to make him appear, gastrodon has two forms...roserade/togekiss is shilling new cross gen evos I guess.
