Ok, with people talking about supposed new types or fake types, I came to think that Sound Type is the most likely (or least impossible) type to become real.
Here's how I think it would work:
>Resistan to/Super effective against Ice (shatters like glass), Psychic and/or Fighting (too much noise can make people lose focus), and Dark (sonars can reveal the surroundings even in the dark, just like bats).
>Weak to/Not very effective against Water and Steel (both soundproof).
>Immune to itself.
Pokemon that should become Sound Type (in most cases this includes their evolutionary lines):
>Jigglypuff - Sound/Fairy (it sings)
>Misdreavus - Ghost/Sound (the Pokedex states that it's known for chanting incantations)
>Politoed - Water/Sound (also known for singing)
>Whismur - Sound (obvious reasons)
>Chimecho - Sound/Psychic (it's basically a bell)
>Kricketot - Bug/Sound (based on musical instruments, also deleleleWOOOOP)
>Bronzor - Steel/Sound (basically a bell -again-)
>Chatot - Sound/Flying (a talking parrot)
>Audino - Sound (again, obvious reasons)
>Tympole - Water/Sound (the Pokedex states that it produces vibrations from its body)
>Maractus - Grass/Sound (based on maracas)
>Meloetta - Sound/Psychic or Sound/Fighting (way too obvious)
>Litleo - Fire/Sound (known for its mighty roar)
>Noibat - Sound/Dragon (echolocation)

I'm working on a fan game with it included:

Being weak to Ice defensively while being strong to it offensively is a lot like a Dragon or Ghost typing and doesn't feel so weird in execution.
I designed it to patch up the type chart where matchups were deficient.
I gave ice 3 resists to water ground and flying as well
