My theory is that pokemons are energy beings (light) and the mirrors inside the pokeball bind they as they reflect the shape and colors. This explains why they have such various forms: pokemon are like a reflective substance that absorbs certain colors (hence the varirty) and have a especific shape.

My theory is pokemon are like big dumplings in a soup, the world is the soup. So when you eat a dimpling it goes inside, and then it stays there inside until you use the bathroom. So the pokeball is a little dogestive systems for the dumplings to go through.

Pokemon have the natural ability to turn their bodies into light. Ever noticed the intense shine when they evolve. That's them turning into light then back to change their shape. Pokeball exploit this by forcing them to turn into light and storing them as light.
