Would Mega Lopunny be broken if it got Play Rough as an egg move?
>>
>>26456534
No.
>>
It'd be broken for sure. Fighting/fairy is nearly perfect coverage.
>>
>>26456612
What does Normal/Fighting with Scrappy not hit?
>>
>>26456534
yes. it would replace ice/fire punch as coverage move of choice and allows it to still hit dragon-types while, more importantly, threatening bulky fighting-types that can take the STAB hit and drain punch back, but not a super-effective play rough with a potential attack drop

Let's see...

>Bug: x1
>Dark: x2
>Dragon: x1
>Electric: x1
>Fairy: x1
>Fighting: x1
>Fire: x1
>Flying: x1
>Ghost: x1
>Grass: x1
>Ground: x1
>Ice: x2
>Normal: x2
>Poison: x1
>Psychic: x1
>Rock: x2
>Steel: x2
>Water: x1

In other words: nothing whatsoever. Confirmed perfect coverage as is, plus that lovely STAB.

Play Rough would let you hit Dragon and Fighting super effectively, so it'd certainly be useful, but coverage is definitely perfect without.

I'd "play rough" with mega lopunny
>>
Broken? Isn't Normal/Fighting + Scrappy literally UNRESISTED coverage? How would more nonSTAB moves ever make a difference?

Fighting: Doesn't resist your STAB. Bulky ones would fall to PuP sets

Dark: Already weak to one of your STABs. And Scrappy ensures Fairy coverage isn't needed to hit Sableye SE

Dragon: Also don't resist your STAB. And Ice Punch targets the 4x weak ones

Play Rough isn't needed.
>>
>>26456534
Not only would it not be broken, it wouldn't be used.

Now give it something it would use, u turn.
>>
>>26456534
It doesn't need any more coverage moves between Scrappy + Normal/Fighting. The only way to make it broken at this point is to make it even stronger and faster.
>>
>>26456881

In the context of OU it would make a difference. It has perfect neutral coverage with just STABs but remember that Ice Punch is a 75 BP attack. Having Play Rough at 90 BP means you now beat some bulky sweepers that tend to be able to boost on you like M-Altaria.

252 Atk Mega Lopunny Fake Out vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Mega Altaria: 63-75 (21.6 - 25.7%) -- 1.2% chance to 4HKO

252 Atk Mega Lopunny Ice Punch vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Mega Altaria: 156-184 (53.6 - 63.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

252 Atk Mega Lopunny Play Rough vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Mega Altaria: 188-222 (64.6 - 76.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Altaria gets knocked down to 76% HP after Rocks, the exact max roll of a Play Rough. With Fake Out that's a guaranteed kill. It's just stronger, better coverage.
>>
>>26456534
Nah. More coverage is gonna mean jack squat.
More utility though, that could break it. U turn, Taunt, Swords dance, Recovery somehow, Cotton Guard, knock off, scald..

>>26456924
Oh neat so it'll beat that thing that isn't even OU anymore.
>>
>>26456924
If Lopunny got STAB moves like Double Edge or Mega Kick the damage rolls would be identical to an SE Play Rough.

What Lop needs is stronger STAB moves and nothing else.
>>
>>26456534

Why on earth would it need fairy coverage? Fighting STAB hits dark, ice punch hits dragon and tons of other shit. Neutral HJK deals more damage than SE Play Rough.
>>
>>26456896
So... Dragon Dance ?
>>
>>26456534

It doesn't really need it when it has scrappy
>>
>>26456626
Shedinja
:^)
>>
>>26457017
>Already blistering fast
>Not Swords Dance
>>
>>26456956

>Stronger STAB moves
>High Jump Kick and Return
>PuP to further boost its Att and Quick Attack for priority

This isn't a hard hitter like Mega Medicham where even 75 BP punch moves get the job done on most things. Ice Punch has benefits, Play Rough has benefits. But please don't act like it needs stronger STABs. Weavile's highest BP move (97.5 BP) hits less hard than both of M-Lopunny's STABs.

>>26456947

>Basing metagame trends on tiring instead of OU viability, ESPECIALLY with Megas.

Get swept by those UU/BL shitmons like M-Aerodactyl and M-Gyarados.
