I don't mind the idea that types have to roughly fit an archetype but I wish Gamefreak would rebalance the types so ones like rock or ice that are shoehorned as generally defensive are actually fucking defensive types. For rock, it's more that the type was created when most pokemon had shit coverage and most of them would have normal move, so it made sense to make defensive rock type back then. But after that they gave pokemon better coverage and didn't bother to change their pokemon design because when people think "rock" they think something massive,durable and immobile.

if they gave it a mega with higher defenses and a bit more special attack, filter or solid rock as an ability, and a reliable recovery move, it'd be decent, UU at best.

i also agree not every pokemon needs to be competitively viable for it to be enjoyable. its a nicely designed mon that just had the misfortune of having a bad defensive typing, but there seriously are worse pokemon out there.

Favourite ice type and favourite fossil. Really don't care if it's competitively viable or not, it's got a great design. Wish it learned Power Gem though.

It's actually not that bad from a lower tier standpoint. There's worse Pokemon out there, and unlike, say, Sunflora or Heatmor, it can pull its weight with Scarf, Specs, and Rock Polish.

Shitty defensive typing, sure, but either ability + good offensive typing ensures it'll pull its weight if you're not stupid and switch it in to powerful coverage attacks. There's a reason it's NU with an RU analysis rather than PU.

Also if you don't kill it in Battle Maison immediately, it pretty much snipes you with Life Orb Refrigerate Hyper Beam and that's totally not cool for slower Trick Room sweepers.
