Why do I never see any Dragalgebros? This is like one of the coolest Pokémon, IMO.
>>26403968
it shit
>>26403968
>>26403968
dragalge is my first favorite pokemon
volcarona is my second.
It's one of my favourite pokemon from gen 6, up there with Talonflame and Hawlucha.
There's just something satisfying about its design, and it's fucking poison/dragon.
I really should go fishing for a shiny version of it.
I used one expecting it to crush everything but its an absolute jobber.
>>26404008
>shiny version
You mean Unit 01?
>>26404008
>mfw I immediately caught a shiny during my main XY run
>mfw it became my main team member
I kind of wish they didn't give it both Poison Point and Poison Touch, in case a more suiting ability comes along some day, but it definitely adds to the, "these pokémon like to drench everything in poison," vibe.
>>26403968
It's a pretty great Pokemon. I love that it has such amazing resistances. Adaptability is fantastic. Good move pool. Looks cool.
I think its learned moves are a bit bland, the levels that it learns them aren't too great, and I hate that it evolves so late by level.
Actually one of my more favorite Gen 6 mons.
Ot looks amazing but statwise it just blows dick
>>26404212
It's actually not bad stat-wise at all and the typing is a boon with fairies
>>26404228
65 base hp as a tanky mon means its awful dude
>>26404139
Generally when a Pokémon evolves at a high level, (and it's not something like Glalie which had to evolve late because it was found late in the games it was introduced in, ) it generally means the pokémon designers are trying to convey that, oh, this is a strong and powerful pokémon, look how cool it is.
Just look at Volcarona and Hydreigon. They evolve so late because it makes them harder to get, more desirable to obtain, and makes them seem more formidable.
On the whole, I would say that this works. I admit that it is annoying when you want your pokémon sooner, but at the same time I probably would lose my admiration for Dragalge slightly if it evolved at level 20. It's just a perspective thing.
Its only flaw is not really its fault:
Both it and Clawitzer are special attackers.
I like both, and a pistol shrimp is a great idea, but either the sea dragon has to be a physical attacker, or they should have made a physical mantis shrimp instead.
>>26403968
It's nice as fuck. A lot of people shit on XY and the lack of pokemon in the dex, but I think it really is quality over quantity. Amazing version exclusives, in my opinion the best fossil trio of any gen, lots of new and interesting type combos, and an inordinately high amount of competitively viable pokemon when you consider how few there are (and Im not even including Megas).
Specs Adaptability Dragalge is a beast in Randoms.
>>26404243
>>26404212
I'm honestly really satisfied with its stats. They seem perfect for it. Sure it's not gonna be able to take an earthquake, but every pokémon generally has some crux. Besides, look at that sexy sp. defense stat.
>>26404246
There are barely any special attacking dragons, certainly none with Adaptability or STAB against fairies. Dragalge's only use comes from its niche.
>>26404246
I just realized how great Dragalge would be if physical with Adaptability and Dragon Dance.
Give it DD, Dragon Claw/Outrage, Gunk Shot, and Waterfall or something. Gets walled by Lando-T just like almost every other Dragon Dancer but it's still better than having to be choice locked to really be viable.
>>26404243
It was great defensive typing, decent defense, and high special defense. It's not going to take every hit but that's why you don't let it take what it can't take. It's fine. If you really think Dragalge is awful idk dude.
>>26404301
>waterfall
>walled by lando T
>dragon CLAW
this whole post
Absolutely my favorite gen 6 pokemon, no contest
I bred a shiny HA Dragalge for my trick room team.
>>26404300
So you're on the mantis shrimp side, that's fine.
>>26404301
And you're on the physical sea dragon, that's also fine.
Really, that's its only problem and it isn't a big one.
>>26404123
The HA is adaptability
Easily my favorite gen 6. Looks sweet normal or shiny, tanks Moonblasts like a champ, and those meteors are a war crime.
Plus it gets Toxic Spikes, which is an immediate +1 tier in my book, and Dragon Tail to be an even cheekier cunt.
>>26404294
They really need to buff its HP
>>26404243
You know it's OU viable right?
AV Adaptability can sponge shit up and nail things super hard. 65 HP keeps it front tanking hardcore, but it stops dedicated special attackers and threatens to KO them back pretty well. Its by no means shit.
>>26403968
This guy was my first shiny from fishing, you better believe I'm a Dragalgebro!
>>26403968
I kinda like Dragalge even though I didn't originally but I still like Kingdra better
Kingdra is just better really
>>26404123
Doesn't matter, the HA is not only fitting, but incredibly strong, it's a good OU pokemon for a reason.
>>26404212
It's a great OU pokemon with its HA, puts a stop to a lot of pokemon, especially with the its move-pool and access to shit like scald and Thunder/Tbolt
>>26403968
Dragalge is my favorite Poison type. And Poison is my favorite type. sooooo...
>>26403968
Poison/dragon, the only new poison type in gen 6. I've been meaning to see how useful it can be. I love dragons, and I love poison types, so it's right up my alley.
>>26403968
Because it's a clusterfuck of epic proportions. It's one of the worst Pokemon ever.
>>26404321
I meant to say Scarf Lando and Waterfall wouldn't kill after Intimidate anyway. Every other DDer doesn't like it either: Altaria, M-Gyarados (Superpower/U Turn), M-Zard X.
>>26403968
Great typing but god that design is terrible, like what the actual fuck were they thinking?
>>26405207
Probably something like "hey, that looks neat, but we should tone it down a bit"
>>26405329
>the real thing actually looks cooler than the pokemon based on it
nice one GF
gen 6 was a mistake
>>26405329
Could also be based on the Weedy Sea Dragon, or at least Skrelp is more based on this.
>>26405207
>>26405344
really think Dragalge is a bad design, then go and think a regular the animal it's based on is cool without any second thoughts? Or are you just being irrational with Gen 6 hatred?
>>26405344
>toned down design
>wtf GF terrible designs
>give pokemon design many unique details
>wtf GF overdesigned garbage
Game Freak can't win with you losers
>>26404228
Fairies can still shrug even its Adaptability-boosted STABs and Play Rough still OHKO it. It's garbage.
>>26405382
The crazy jagged body makes me think it's Leafy.
Skrelp is definitely Weedy though.
>boogeyboarding at the beach
>get swept away by current
>see this
>what do?
>>26405344
>>26405329
I think the point is that it's a leafy sea dragon whose leaves are dead
>>26403968
ughhh
>>26405518
Secret Whale Forme
Using an Adaptability one in an X run right now.
Pretty rad. Always liked the design.
Do you honestly genuinely like a pokemon that is past generation 1?
>>26405609
nice b8
but yeah there's plenty of great Pokémon in every gen
>>26405512
>Skrelp
>mid-stage covered in frilly neon leaves
>Dragalge
Dragalge thread?
Best gen VI poke. I knew from the moment I saw Skrelp it was going to make it into my top favorites of all time.
Skrelp is adorable in Amie.
>>26403968
All around good design, good competitive use.
I can only criticize its dumb looking eyes.
>>26404139
Better learned moves would be cool. Poison has a lot of potential
>>26403992
10/10 taste
>pokemon exists in the deep sea
>losing its water type
Autism aside, I like both it and skrelp, I'm glad we finally got a poison/dragon pokemon too.
>>26404054
No i dont mean that.
