I equally hate all the starters from gen2 as well as many other things from this gen.

but, as usual, the only reasonable choice for a starter is fire (especially in gen4 and with the notable exception of gen6) since this is still an under-represented type. I don't hate water starters, they are just useless considering how much water mons there are. (this does not concern froakie which is the only choice in water mon for Y)
