Similar in concept to the Frillish line. Especially with that typing. I might suggest Water/Dark just so it doesn't seem like an outright clone.

My idea is for two counterpart pokemon based on the old wolf in sheep clothing saying.

Stage One:
a wolf pup. Dark type.
lamb. Normal type.

They evolve when traded for eachother.

Stage two:
Wolf with huge fluffy wool a sheep like hood/mask over it's face. It's eyes from the previous stage are visible.
Dark/Normal
Fur Coat
Lots of HP and Defense.

Sheep wearing a wolf pelt. The sheep's eyes would be seen in the mouth of the wolf pelt as if it was hiding.
Normal/Dark
Intimidate
High attack and decent Speed.

2nd stages would be something like pic related. Not the best examples for the idea but it's similar.

An anon in the last thread tried to give me a tip on how to transition to a look I wanted for the final form (a butterfly mask), but I didn't get to respond to them before the thread died. So I'm trying again. I think I might want to make the tail fin more skirt/dress-like and have the final form look like a goldfish going to a masquerade ball. I don't really know to to transition to that without it 'just getting bigger.'

However, even though there are humanoid mons out there with their own set of clothing, this one feels even more awkward due to the ellaborate patterns and how it just so managed to conjure a sword out of nowhere. I presume these are based on plastic flowers? Despite rocking those names, Sudowoodo is already running the "not a plant" niche, and moreover, the current last stage feels like a middle stage and not the final solution of something as of yet. What's the reasoning behind this design? The ears and pink colors don't really fit the sandy team, and instead only makes the viewer KNOW they're there to justify the fairy typing. If you wanna go the Ground/Fairy route then I'd personally suggest Sphinxes or even the Minotaur mentioned below, but as it stands, this one is just Dunsparce's long lost cousin.

Minotaurs are definitely something I'd like to see in the pokeverse, but this design is about as basic as it can get. Hardly any musculature or unique visual traits, just an upright walking bull with gold rings added for good measure. Minotaurs are so well known that you might as well consider them a creature of their own, so a reference to something else that could be incorporated into the design would do it a large favor imo.

I was around shortly after that create a Mon, and man I realized how hard it was to create a bug ice type that wasn't just a bug with ice or ice related details. Not that there's any inherent problem with that but it was more like a creative challenge. This design falls into the number one pitfall when it comes to designing fire types: "Just set fire on it lol." In case you weren't aware, fire flies don't have any flames burning from their backs, so if you really want to use that bug species as base for this, then you may as well shoot for a more lantern based design or something that keeps the fire sealed inside, and not gushing out like this. It also looking nothing like a fire fly and instead more of a flammable moth, which Colcarona already pulled off much better. And lastly, might wanna do something about that "it just gets bigger" flaw.

Arguably one of your better creations since you've taken a dragon and then giving it features from a viking boat, and not vice versa, so good job. The pattern on its belly could definitely need some smplification, and the algae on its fins could gain from a less glaring color. The back could also use some development, either as back spines sticking up as a nod towards masts, or just body bumps that doesn't look like decorations and instead like shields (I assume that's what you were gunning for).

This is more of a twisted homunculus than a species of its own. It's like, I get that Normal/Bug is an elusive typing and it's difficult to get right since Normal typing either requires common animals or objects, and then you need to seamlessly combine them with bugs. It's hard, but there's no point in bruteforcing it like this design, because you want to get the best of both worlds and you're left with nothing. Unless there's some lore/reference that connects poodles with moths, this design don't fly (hue) with me.

No on the pyramids along its tail, they really don't seem to blend in that well and you want snakes to be thin and lean in order to move efficiently, the end of their tail is much more open for additional junk. Its head doesn't make much sense to me though. Is the middle of tis chest just one large fire portal with excess flames shooting out the sides? Just seems very excessive and a lazy way to incorporate the sun into the design. See if you can take Arbok's approach and give it a chest pattern that's a nod towards egyptian wall paintings of the sun or something, while also giving it a crown/pharao hat with features that points towards the sun as well. And not....the actual sun on its chest.

I know I said earlier that including another feature to improve that other guy's minotaur would improve it, I don't think maze skin is gonna do the trick. I mean, mazelike patterns here and there as armor or whatnot would be neat, but having it cover the entire skin will make it very difficult to draw as well as sprite and just make it seem very busy and weird overall, and not cool and creative. Keep it simple, but not boring.

As far as I recall, this design predates the Blitzle line and is also much more creative with the base animal, as well as hinting towards the Trojan horse as well. The Blitzle line is literally "its body pattern recembles thunder bolts, thus it's an electric type! Also, let's just make it bigger for the last stage!"

If by pokemon styled you mean sugimore's drawing style, then that's not a requirement. Forcing artists to replicate a partiular style just to be recognised as fakemon designs is not the main objective, since they should instead spend their time understanding what features or traits are commonly seen across official designs and understanding what balance between simplicity and complexity you need in order for a design to be associated with Pokemon. If you want a design to pass off as a believable leak, then sure, Sugimori style is a requirement, but why burden designers with such a subjective requirement when they don't even depend on it to work as a fakemon design?

Dude if you're still down to draw concepts can you take these pieces of shit I drew and make it better?

The first stage is easy to see, the second stage gets a headband and a leaf belt, the first stage is supposed to have a swaying stance like a bonzai tree. The hair should go from bright auburn to a more dull reddish brown, mixed with grey like a beechwood tree for the last one. I like the general look of the first two but it's the last stage that really needs work.

The roots element can be a knee-down element instead of subterranean. Try to channel elf archers and Ents. Oh, and the last stage's bow and quiver look pink but they're supposed to be the color of redwood.

It might have been me, I definitely responded to the post but I don't remember what I said. My idea was to make the mask extend from around its eyes back down its back to become the hem of the gown (which I like the progression of, from the first stage to a skirt to a gown), or/and spreading to incorporate the side fins into a larger extension of the mask somehow. Play with the design a little, butterfly masks are vaguely fin-shaped so maybe the whole front half of the fish could look like a mask

One thing you could do on the final stage is cover most of the bubble-eyes with the mask-scales, but still make them bulbous, with normal-sized eye holes in the mask design to give the illusion of normal-sized eyes

Even if drawn by a better artist, the design will still only amount to a humaoid tree who carries around a bow and arrows, thus putting it on the same level as Gurdurr when it comes to complicated designs where it's just assumed that the creature is just as ingenuitive as humans except not really. Anything that can be incorporated into the creature itself, the less you open yourself up to the "where did they get X from" issues.

And to be blunt, that design still has a long way to go and thus puts pressure on the next artist to make it all better, and that still won't be that rewarding since the end result will turn out like pic related. If you want your ideas done well, you should look into commissions.

That's weird. I remember at least 2 other people saying they thought the design was good while one anon (I'm presuming that was you) insisted that one or other of the Type combinations was nonsensical and wouldn't stop pressing the matter after having it explained to him, repeatedly. You were being the typical "No fun allowed" homo. Next you'll move on to ranking fakemon in long chain quotes in these threads. Then every time you see a design that upsets your autism you'll simply reply with the name of 1-3 existing Pokemon, and nothing else, as if that helps your point. Once you reach that stage you'll be too far gone to help.

Thanks. Any progress on this fakemon might have to wait though since the goldfish I was sort of dedicating this to (she sparked my love of goldfish), my 7 1/2" long black moor Cosmo, just died. She was sick and I didn't have any means or money to separate her from her tankmates, and they basically bullied her to death, even though she was almost over her illness.

I guess, all-in-all though, it makes me want to make the final form as perfect as I can get it, so I'll try to work on it again soon.

It's alright. I'm not mad at the other fish anyway since they were doing it in self-defense (like how a mother hamster might eat a sick baby to save the others). She was my first, biggest, and favorite goldfish in that tank, so I was quite attached. At least now I have room in my tank for possibly a pearlscale goldfish I guess. Those things are super goofy looking if you've never seen one.
