I want them to make it so these games have all 720+ pokemon available between them. It would be fitting for the 20th anniversary games.

The good thing about XY having a shit ton of old Pokemon everywhere is that it makes replaying it a lot more enjoyable since you see something new each time as opposed to something like ORAS where you just see Linoone and Wingull on every fucking route.

The Doduo screenshot is fake, the Meowth is their family pet Pokemon from Kanto, and they never show off new Pokemon in proof of concept art until official reveals. Those blastoise, furfrou, wobbo, etc, etc, are all just there for the purpose of concept art.

As someone who currently has my Pokedex at 720 in Pokemon Y (hurry the fuck up Volcanion event), it'd say it's gotten way easier. Version exclusive legendaries are the only tricky part anymore, and even then I often trade any extra legendaries in exchange for them, or wait for digital distribution events.

Pretty much agreed, except I'm not so keen on Yanmega, Gliscor is certainly great, and Lickilicky is a fucking abomination. Tangrowth is also horrible, but Tangela is a shitty design to begin with so I don't really care as much. So, yeah, a little more than three bad designs, and I'd rather they left the already good designs alone, but still more good than bad, and a few of them made previously rubbish looking Pokemon worthwhile because of a better evolution.

It's gotten more tedious (because more mons), but not harder.
The fact that we currently have 4 gens transfer compatible, as well as GTS and wondertrade makes it much more likely that you can find the mon you need in a game you have (even if you never bought more than one version), and far more likely that you can trade for the ones you can't find.

Seriously reasonable GTS requests "My starter for your starter/My version exclusive for your version exclusive" get filled really fucking quickly (or did back when I finished my dex, at least). You just have to OFFER instead of searching it to filter out those who want a level 1 Zerkrom for a Mawile.
