Platinum was the game that Diamond/Pearl was supposed to be. They felt like Beta releases, like the entire game itself was a test at what COULD be. When Platinum came out and felt like a finished game, fuck yes I was salty.

Black2/White2 were the better Unova games simply because they gave the option of catching older Pokémon, since I wasn't the biggest fan of most Gen 5 Pokémon. There were only a few that I really gave a shit about.

X/Y slightly reminded of how D/P felt in the way that it was short and very tech demo. I doubt we'll see many new Pokémon, and that this Dex will feel like the second half of Kalos' Dex.

S/M will take place in another region obviously, but I'm pretty much expecting the "finished" feel of how Platinum was to D/P.

You can say that you didnt like the graphics, pokemon, npcs etc of gen6 for example but the formula is still at least half as fun as before.

Calling a gen disappointing is way better imo since there arent truly bad pokemon games yet (except ORAS lmao, not but seriously)

I'd say either Black and Black 2, or White and White 2. Personally I feel the Black 2's display is easier on the eyes, but you should look up exclusives for the versions to decide.
Also consider playing at least Black 2 on an emulator or with an AR so you can unlock Challenge Mode from the start.

Hawaii consists of many little islands. If you take a look at the map in the video there aren't many buildings. Every building would need to be a gym to make it work.
The map shot in the video is probably for the first cutscene when you wake up or something.
