Starter themes don't mean shit.

Geninja dropped the bubble glasses and focused on the tongue that Froakie didn't so much as hint.
Blastoise dropped the "squirrel/feather" thing squirtle and wartortle had kept going for "huge and armed with canons"
Oshawott itself had a clown vibe but that was lost to focus on the tiny shell on its belly, evetrything else was discarded.

The only water starters with consistent evos are the ones that didn't have a theme to begin with and just went with "draw it bigger" (swampert, feraligatr...)


So tl;dr - expecting a distinct theme to stick until until its final form is more stupid than expecting it to go for something different.

Most of the fan designs I've liked so far for these guys were more bulky but this is pretty nice. Popplio still looks like a clown and doesn't have fuck me eyes which for some reason most slender ones do. Litten almost looks like a volcano with lava pouring down it sitting like that. The tuft of hair on the back of it's neck looks cool too and adds to the volcano vibe. Could still probably be a bit bulkier though. Got one of these for rowlet?

I made an idea thread for Popplio's evos after I saw this so I'll just repost that

Requesting the assistance of an artfag to help make my idea for this fucker's evo a reality.

So I'm thinking for it to be based on the guy who gets shot out of a cannon in circuses. I'm thinking make the body shape long and lanky, kinda like a torpedo. He'd have a stuntman helmet on, or maybe his fur would look like it.Visor is optional.

Other than that, just make the fur look like an Evil Kenevil Jumpsuit and go wild. As for the name, i'm thinking Flippow, like flipper and kapow, but whatever works.

The main theme of the line is still Chicken(bird) dude, hell Rhyhorns main theme is the horn and armour, not the fact that it looks like a rhino.

Dewott isn't technically Miyamoto though. As it is more of a representation of unarmored samurai under training grounds. Which is why it is in the phase that begins welding two shells. Miyamoto was just an example despite being a godly swordsmen.

This. Im sure gamefreak is well aware that we dont need anymore seals. An aquatic dog would be a refreshing idea and I could see popplio developing a set of hind legs through evolution whilst keepin his seal-like tail. Plus, a cat, a dog, and a bird. Three most common family pets. Hawaii has strong family vaules. Could be a secondary, if not primary theme.
