What do you think about the new move Leafage? Will it be as simple as Ember and Water Gun, or it will be somewhat different?

Also Rowlet adoration thread.
>>
40 BP single target grass move with nothing else.
Just a grass water gun, because vine whip would look awkward as fuck with Owlet and is physical.
>>
In b4 its 40 bp priority grass move
>>
It's just a grass ember/water gun
>>
>>26269255
It's just a 40 power move. Like people have been saying razor leaf is a little more powerful and absorb has an added effect. It's like water types getting either water gun or bubble depending on the flavor
>>
it just something that grass pokemon would have in early games. Better than having absorb as an replacement.
>>
>>26269218
Leafage is obviously physical though.
>>
post more owl, can't let catfags and sealcucks saturate the board with shit taste.
>>
>>26269369
its description said it attacks prey with kicks. It's probably a physical attacker, or at least ainitially
>>
>>26269369
Did you see the animation? And the special art? Rowlet shoots feathers. Gotta be special.
>>
>>26269330

Bubble always used to be 20 BP though, it was the initial water move most pokemon learned before moving on to Water Gun, like Absorb was for grass types.

Guess it was changed to 40 as part of the general homogenization process of moves.
>>
>>26269408
just like razor leaf
>>
There's probably a couple of Pokémon that get leafage.
>>
>>26269408
Shooting projectiles indicates a physical attack. It's not a beam of any sort, its physically shooting feathers, which would do physical damage. Its like how bullet seed or earthquake are physical moves, the physical / special split is NOT a split between melee and ranged.
>>
>>26268852
It's the grass ember/water gun, the alternative of absorb
>>
Leafage sounds too similar to the spanish word "lefa", which means jizz. Cannot take the move seriously anymore.
>>
>>26269469
Exactly. The official art shows the feathers being shot out like daggers. They resemble daggers.

This anon is just dumb.
>>
>>26268852
>Leafage
10 BP
20 PP
Grass/Physical

The pokemon fires a barrage of leaves at the opponent. Hits 2-5 times.
>>
>>26269491
>>26269469
the thing is that it's a starting move for grass types so it has to be weak. Vine whip already has the 40bp physical slot so this has to be either 20bp physical, which wouldn't match up with the other starters' moves, or a 40bp special, which would fit in with the rest
>>
>>26269522
it's probably grass quick attack
>>
>>26269469
Yeah but look at how they glow. It's probably a special Grass move (like its counterparts) despite Rowlet being a physical attacker.
>>
>>26269593
Every move glows these days.
>>
Leafage = Leaf + Plumage
They probably made the move because Vine Whip would be too weird for an owl.
>>
>>26268852
Possibly a dual type move, like Flying Press. Leafage is Leaf + Plumage, it could be a grass/flying move.
>>
>>26269629
>>26269678
leafage+____=leafage
it's an actual word
>>
>>26269629
But every Grass starter so far has had Vine Whip, no matter how weird it is. They just show the vines coming out of from their bodies. I could see vines coming out from behind Rowlet's bowtie, personally.
>>
lmao all these retards coming up with farfetched bullshit.

It's fucking Ember for grass types.
>>
>>26269606
Not razor leaf.
>>
>>26269694
I think what you are thinking of is Foliage, which is also possible. But Plumage is just as possible.
>>
>>26269837
Yup. That said, the French name for the move is 'feuillage', aka 'foliage' in French.
>>
>>26269629
>>26269694
>>26269837
>>26269892
Can we agree that it's a double meaning?
>>
>>26268852
tbqh it's a 40BP special alternative to Absorb and Mega Absorb since an absorbing owl sounds odd, also can't see it using Vine Whip.
>>
>>26269707
I WANT THIS AS A GIF
>>
>>26269938
Could be, but not necessarily. >>26269694 is right, leafage is a word by itself.
Should it be a double meaning, it sure as fuck won't be a double-type move though.
>>
>>26269469
Just like Frenzy Plant and Grass Knot :^)
>>
>>26269522
Vine Whip is 45 now.

>>26269707
No? Treecko and Turtwig don't get it. Chikorita only gets it by breeding.
>>
confirmed, Ash will pick Rowlet, I can already imagine using him as bulbasaur to save people from impending death

モクロー!つるのムチ!
>>
>>26270073
>>26270096
Shut up, faggot.
>>
>>26269218
>>26269330
vinewhip and razorleaf being higher BP was to off set the fact that early route bug and flying mess with grass anyhow
>>
>>26268852

>Two nukes

Nice
>>
>>26269218
what about Razor leaves?
>>
>>26273427
Yeah scratch that! I should have lurked more.
>>
probably not really powerful nor gimmicky since the other starters don't have signature move. maybe 40 damage special grass attack
>>

It's just a bit of leafage
>>
It's clear it's a 40 BP special move. They gave Litten Ember and Popplio Water Gun. They would've just given Rowlet Vine Whip like usual if they didn't want them all to match. Leafage isn't some signature attack. The word leafage is a synonym of foliage, so probably most Grass types that can use leaf moves like Razor Leaf or Magical Leaf will get it. It seems pretty obvious.
>>
>>26269218
But isn't Mega Drain already a special Grass move with 40 BP and 100% accuracy?
>>
>>26273850
Magical Leaf and Giga Drain used to have the same BP. Drain Punch now has the same BP as Brick Break. The HP drain has always been enough to differentiate between attacks.
>>
>>26273834
This something happen in gen 6 but there was a difference in Chespin.
Froakie had 1 physical 1 status move 1 special move
Fennekin had 1 physical 1 status move 1 special move
Chespin had 2 physical moves 1 status move 0 special move.
So I assume leafage is just a grass special.
>>
>>26269398
With this logic, Goodra being able to throw powerful punches would be a physical attacker.
Description mean nothing.
>>
>artwork shows Popplio making large water balloons

Why doesn't he start with Bubble? Is he gonna get some signa ture move?
>>
>>26274149
If it's like Kalos almost every Alolamon will have at least 1 signature move and/or ability, if not a unique type combo.
>>
>>26269892
thx frenchbro, i was just about to post the same thing
it's quite weird, doesn't sound like an attack at all
>>
>>26269678
this early in the game?
+rowlet's already the only dual typed starter (non evolved), would be strange to put all the focus on him
> who said greninja
>>
>>26274269
>rowlet's already the only dual typed starter (non evolved)
>Bulbasaur
>>
>>26274425
i obviously meant 7G
>>
>>26274564
yeah... obviously...
>>
>>26268852
SPECIAL GRASS TYPE PRIORITY
>>
>>26268852
I fucking died, nice work op
>>
>>26269593
Maybe a Grass version of Swift?

Magical Leaf?
>>
>>26276031
Why are you putting so much thought into this?

On the Pokemon page, it says the moves each Pokemon starts with:
Litten gets Ember (40 BP, 100% Acc, Special)
Popplio gets Water Gun (40 BP, 100% Acc, Special)
Rowlet gets Leafage

Why would you think it's a 60 BP move that never misses? If they wanted it to be a different move, they could've given it Vine Whip like Chespin. They must be trying to make it perfectly even across the board with this new move. It seems pretty clear it'll just be a 40 BP special move with 100% accuracy.
>>
>>26276165
Vine Whip wouldn't make sense on an owl. Chespin is the only Pokemon to get the move that doesn't have vines or other tendrils.
>>
i love how it turns its head to look at its trainer
>>
>>26276265
Yeah, so if Chespin doesn't have vines or other tendrils, what would've stopped them from putting it on Rowlet?

Leafage is just a new weak Special Grass-type attack since there aren't any that have less than 60 BP that don't have secondary effects.
>Absorb drains HP
>Mega Drain drains HP

Why wouldn't they try to fill this gap? A 40 BP, Special attack would give them a weak option to give to Grass types that don't have vines so they don't have to keep awkwardly sticking on Vine Whip like they did with Chespin. It's definitely something that's been missing from the game so far.
