Actually it kind of is unless this is meant to be some sort ACKCHUALLY pedantry about what it exactly means to be tropical at which point I don't actually know if it is. Okinawa is a famous vacation spot because of of it, to the point that it's said to feel like traveling to a different country.

Lol, dear, have you been to Kyushu? It is freaking tropical. The natives of that island are darker skinned compared to the fairer skinned mainland Japanese too.

But! The thing is, I don't mind another region, let these Pokemon regions expand high and proud! Still waiting for that Ghose-filled SE Asian region though, be it Indonesia or whatever.

That was pretty much the only point I could think of against the next region being Hawaii.

Hopefully we'll go somewhere cold next time, and I don't just mean a bit of frost like in Sinnoh.

Kyushu and Okinawa are subtropical, not tropical. they would have to be south of the Tropic of Cancer to be tropical.
