I quite like Solgaleo. Love the design and the name. The rest of the designs I don't care about though. The starters are the worst yet in my opinion. Hopefully they can redeem them with their evolutions.

Personally I think they're alright. Sol looks better than Luna but they're both average and they beat Gen 4 legends. Gen 5 and 6 legends were better though.

I think the idea of the legendaries is fine, at least what ideas we can tell are behind them so far, but I agree I think the actual designs are pretty bad imo. Solgaleo looks extremely uninspired and there's something about Lunaala's face that feels off and makes it not look like a legendary, but that's kind of vague and just my opinion. The all have a bunch of little details they probably din't need. Like Solagaleo has the mix between furry mane and solid-looking main, and the little diamonds on each bit, and the little shapes around it nose, and his tail having a block bowl with the pointy ring around it, and the curly looking things on its legs.

I know that's what it REPRESENTS but it's not rainbow colored, and if you're arguing what they represent Lugia has nothing to do with being "monochrome" nor does it even look like a bird, and you weren't arguing what they're based on but the duality or similarity they're supposed to have design wise and not their themes anyway.

I have the opposite problem OP, love the legends but the starters are super underwhelming for me right now.

I give you that nearly every legend after Gen 2 looks overdone, but there are some interesting Ideas behind some of them, in fact I like Jirachi, Dialga, Palkia, Terrakion and Zygarde (I dunno why I like that fucker, it just stuck with me)

The designs for the legendaries could be literally ANYTHING and there would still be a number of people that those designs fail to resonate with. It's just basic subjectivity really.
