What happened?
Will we ever get the forest and lake vibe again?
What?
People here are too young to know what your're talking about, op.

Pokemon used to feel rural and mysterious
Now it's all cities and technology
>>26196735
We'llNEVER EVERget the feeling back.
>>26196870
I get what you mean but gen 1 was also pretty technological, with teleporters and genetic engineering.

It was very Eerie and the part of the mystery was that there where only 150 known pokemon so as a kid you knew there had to be at least a couple more and you could only imagine. I love pokemon to death and Pokemon Adventures is an absolute epic manga that's EERIE and full of ADVENTURE!
>>26196735
It's kept alive through those 'world of Pokemon' sequences in the movies and the start of new anime arcs.

But it wasn't the vibe you know?
Like you had cities like saffron or whatever but they were small and connected with fishing bridges n shit
Most things were ~made of nature~ or some accidendal abomination, not literally citymons
I dunno I guess I just liked pinocones and deer living round lakes by shrines, where the most advanced machinery is either the pc or the one train they've got
Sinnoh and Hoenn had that vibe
Unova and Kalos fucked up

It's not scary it gets edgy for like a chapter. It's a fun adventure though.

Eerie doesn't necesseraly mean scary. Yet Surge, Koga and Elite four where pretty god damn scary and I had no idea when I was about to read it. The adventure and ideas are great. I love the fact that Poliwag evolved in order to save Red from drowning.

>muh feels
I'll let you in on a secret, anon- that "vibe" is called nostalgia. There's no basis to it, it's simply you remembering your childhood fondly.
>>26196981
>this is the average PokeSperg
I know that edgefest attracted autists but this is just cringeworthy.

Kanto and Johto didn't? You are refering to the games right? Because I can say that even though gen 4 and beyong don't appael to me with pokemon and story, the sense of adventure is there and the music is always an epic score. But if you where born around 1992 and know what its like to play pokemon for the first time, as it is the best game on earth that was hard to beat as a kid, yet everyone pulled through and always found their favorites. I even heard people that hate pokemon or just grew up from it ages ago that sometimes mention a pokemon or just found something in it that defined their person. I don't know man im high as shit and pokemon is god

I also had this feeling with Darkest Dungeon and Hand of Fate and they came out not long ago. It doesn't have to be nostalgia, because some games are just made well with a perfect atmosphere and a sense of wonder for the player. It must leave you wanting to see more is it not? I played pokemon because I haven't seen all 150 at first. When I played Crystal I didn't know all the pokemon and the game was that much sweeter and rewarding to find something new. C'mon Anon tell me wrong!

I'm 32, gen 4 was the first games I played, didn't play gen 1 or two until four years ago. OP is right. Nostalgia has nothing to do with it.
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go end myself because I'm 32 and I'm still on this website.
