It redeems itself in the Gen 4 and 5 chapters but gets crap again at Gen 6.

It's clearly rushed and being balanced with two other series. Everything is suffering right now. The characters arent fleshed out in the slightest either.

Confirmed for no having read it. Trevor is great there. Shauna and Tierno not so much but they're definitely better than their game versions.

I don't know about perfect, but it is true that the current season is better than most of animes in recent years. To a point that the current fanbase is nowadays actually made of different kind of people (/a/, /m/, /v/) that came back to Pokemon after dropping it after the first season.

I'll give you XY, but that's only really okay at best. B2W2 has one hell of a mary sue for a protagonist who isn't really likable, especially after the extremely strong BW chapter.

On the other side, Ash is finally competent. I still like PokeSpe a lot more than the anime, but let's face the facts here; the anime's at least better than the shitshow known as ORAS right now.
