Emerald wasn't shit because it introduced good post game but Hoenn has always been shit. ORAS just proved it. Same with Sinnoh, it's going to be awful when those remakes come out.

Let me break it down to you why D/P are the worst games in the series are you ready?

1. Cross evolutions
They seem good but when half of them are fucking babies what's the point? Not to mention there are unavailable until post game and some aren't in the fucking game i.e. Tangrowth

2. General mon selection

This is a really shit dex, no one mentions this. 3 solid starters and a really great regional bird? Then what else early game? Floatzel? You have the worst bugs in the game here wordam and Burmy and mothim don't forget krickitot Your one other fire type ponyta with no special attack stats? What about Luxray? Sorry to break it to you.... But it's garbage no stab and shit speed. Here we have maybe the worst fossils so far, both game and design wise a broken wall and fragile glass cannon. I like Roserades but fuck max happiness from Budew. Oh I know lets add a Pokemon that's really rare and might be encountered every 24 hours but only have a 1/8 chance of being good! Pikachu clone (but a solid one) I forgot Cherim existed it's whole gimmick is changing in the sun. LIKE CASTFORM. I love gastrodon nothing there. Want me to continue?

3. Team Galactic

Holy shit they are old team flare, and don't know what their leader wants and do stuff with no consequences, like a person will battle you after running away and will only battle you because he's tired. Cyrus is interesting but have you heard his plan? I will capture God so we can create a new world, WITHOUT EMOTION. He also just hands you a masterball after creating the red chain and let's you just let the things that he spent millions on and surprise surprise they are the reason his plan fails. Once you beat him. HE FUCKING WALKS AWAY. I'll be back! And you never see him again.... I mean fuck. We Needed Rock Climb Surf Strenght to get there, although RS needed that they were shit also. That was just random plot points off the top of my head, so if I missed any let me know.

4. Elite 4 and Gym Leaders cont

FUCKING Volkner he uses a fucking Ambipom and an Octillery with electric type moves. His ace....? A Luxray a Pokemon on the first route you can find its pre-evolution (inb4 Nidoking it was good)

Now on to the elite 4!

Aaron cool for being big type, but his ace is a poison dark type..... He also has 2 standard butterflies from Hoenn. Doesn't seem qualified... Average level 53

Bertha an Agtha clone. Average level 56 2 water ground types and a plain rock type. Has 1 gen 4 poke with a lot to pick from

Flint. flint. uses a STARTER a ghost flying steelix and lopunny will o wisp fire fans and fire punch respectively. Average level 58

Lucian. Solid average level 60 but only 1 Sinnoh Pokemon with a Fighting Psychic HOENN Pokemon. Seems legit

Cynthia top teir great except for one thing..... HOW FUCKING HARD SHE IS. HER AVERAGE LEVEL IS 63. That's 10 more that the first elite 4 and she has a great team thigh... 5 Sinnoh Pokemon she's almost perfect with her team though.

To compare... The a stage trainer in victory road has 1-2 Pokemon at level 47..... You need to get your Pokemon up 10 levels above that to be under levels to Lucian. With level 45 wild Pokemon and no lucky egg in sight. And worse of all you can't use verse seeker on them. I mean WHY?

I mean they have so many good substitutes with Platinum but they were so fucking lazy in D/P.

I actually liked this, gave the gyms some surprise factor and variety. Also keeps you from spamming Earthquake or what have you. Wish they would do this more often.

Yeah the leveling is a bit fucked but the E4 is doable with a team of level 50s.
