grass/psychic
fire/fighting
water/dark
I just realized that Gen VI was the first time starters had secondary types that would've been special pre-GenIV. I'm surprised there weren't a ton of people saying that Fire/Psychic and Water/Dark starters would be impossible due to this given how much people love patterns.

Keep trying, owlfag. Maybe someday you'll learn how to troll. Maybe once you finish middle school.

Fast Grass type that becomes Grass/Water to overcome your rival's fire type. Stats should be specially oriented, similar to Greninja.
Bulky physical oriented Fire type that becomes Fire/Grass to overcome its water weakness. Should learn Bulk Up and HA should be either Toxic Heal or Shed Skin. (leave Grass/Fire with Drought for a specially orient legend, this is meant to be a bulky booster that can't be crippled by burns or leech seed)
Water starter becomes part Water/Fire to overcome its grass weakness. Should be fast and physically oriented, similar to Blaziken.

Alternatively...
Grass/Flying so it kills other Grass types
Fire/Rock (speedy mixed attacker, don't make it slow) so it kills other Fire types.
Water/Electric so it kills other Water types.

I like how you think anon
>>26128495
I want starters with completely unrelated types that aren't strong or weak against one another.
>Electric, Psychic, and Ice
>Normal, Bug, and Water
>Fire, Dark, and Flying
The list goes on.
>>26128972
Dude come on there's been like 3 now, right?
>>26129401
and they've only gotten worse after blaziken
>grass/rock
>fire/ground
>water/ice
>>26129422
I'd argue that Emboar was a nice step up from Infernape, but still ass compared to Blaziken

Put the razor down, Laurence.
>>26129223
This would be an interesting combo to even out the effectiveness of the starters against eachother but doesn't fit with the Easy Medium Hard starter sequence of the gyms. What gyms would your region have?
>>26129440
Fire is disadvantaged in that situation
>Water does 4x to the Fire starter
>Ice, Grass and Rock all do 1x to the Fire Starter
>Meanwhile Fire does 1x to the Water and Grass starters and only Ground does 2x to the Grass starter
Starters that gain the type they're weak to (Grass has the plant part become like a torch, Fire emits steam, Water has algae grow on it)
Starters that gain the type they're strong against (Grass-type tree frog that learns to surf with leaves/lily pads, not sure what the Fire starter would be tbqh, Water-type newt that evolves into a spotted salamander)
Invertebrate starters (Grass snail with a seed shell that evolves into a Grass/Steel special variant of Ferrothorn, Fire/Bug fire ant that evolves into an insectoid centaur, Water/Fighting mantis shrimp)
Also a Grass-type starter that involves a cactus or fungus or is a plant and not a plant-animal would be refreshing.

Shit you're right. Didn't think that through very well I guess.
Guess I'm just salty that every gen grass doesn't get buffed and has a fuckhuge amount of weaknesses
not my ideal starters, but here are my take on them.
>>26129924
>grass doesn't get buffed
Grass got an immunity to powder moves.
Already got it. Though I'd love a fire rabbit.
>>26129973
Bleh. I was at least hoping for a resistance to some type. I mean, how the fuck is grass weak to flying? I never really got that.
>>26129969
these are my ideal starters desu
>>26128972
>not wanting a Water/Fighting type starter based on monks that sit under waterfalls and meditate
Why couldn't these be real?
>>26130119
t-thanks
>>26129973
Who cares it's still not a good buff.
"Oh no I shouldn't use grass types move on a grass type."
Yeah no shit sherlock
>>26130358
>implying resistance has any impact on Status moves unless it's immunity
>implying free switch-ins aren't a thing
I won't deny that Grass is still in the bottom 5 types, but it was a nice buff.
Grass/Steel
Fire/Dark
Water/Flying
I guess
