It introduced the Fairy type. It opens more new interesting ideas for monster designs and Granbull became less forgettable and more usable because if it. Which I'm eternally grateful for.

Day and night cycles that actually had substantial differences were pretty rad. It could be a good way to fit more Pokemon into the same number of routes.

SOME of the Pokemon it introduced were top-tier such as Liligant, Whimsicott, Audino and Leavanny line. Far too outnumber by shit-tier mons which ultimately lands it as my least fave gen.

An actual attempt at a good story

BW2 were HGSS-godtier games and allowed us to use mons from previous gens, which pretty much fixed the main problem of BW.

I guess Gen 1 is my least favorite, even though I love it.
