My first and only shiny, after years of never seeing one. (besides Gyarados in GSC)

Started first ever shiny hunt a couple days ago. I'm hunting a shiny giratina and am currently 726 Sr in. Wish me luck!

Pokemon Y Druddigon on victory Road. Really hoped for a shiny Haunter, but that's not bad at all.

Hatched an Impish Skarmory with a perfect IV in defense, so I use it in my comp team.

the shiny itself is kinda ass but hey it worked out.

I started breeding for a good shiny Scolipede this week, have hatched two so far. Sadly both without Speed Boost. One is Poison Point 4IV gutter trash, the other is 5IV with Swarm. I gave that one a showderp moveset of Megahorn/Pursuit/Screech/Endeavour with Focus Sash.

Really hope I get one with Speed Boost soon, but it could take a while.

Too bad shiny ttar looks like shit.

I've gotten like four shinies through Wondertrade a couple weeks ago in one day. They were a Kecleon, a Pyroar, a Sableye, and a shitty fourth mon I can't remember.

Only one I've naturally found/bred yet was a Woobat in B2, but Hugh killed it before I could kill his Pokemon.

I haven't had much luck with hatching. After a male buneary and a froakie with torrent it made me want to try wild shiny hunting.

How exactly does dexnav hunting work? I never got a shiny from it.

Wasn't one I got to catch or anything, but the first and only time I found a shiny was a Mr. Mime in Reflection Cave in X.

Was busy doing something else while playing the game and running away from the wild Pokémon inside (wasn't using a repel at the time), and ended up catching a glimpse of the shiny Mr. Mime just as I hit the 'run away' button.

Why do you guys shiny hunt when PXHex exists and is easily accessible on any 3DS system?

It's it some sort of sense of accomplishment or something? Do you guys get a kick off resetting 29381 times to get a different colored model that someone else could make by literally ticking a box?

Every game has cheats anon. While I agree that SRing is the most time consuming form of shiny hunting, regular shiny hunting techniques are quite easy and requires little effort. Some people just like the satisfaction of doing things the way they were intended. It provides a sense of legitimacy and overall value to the game. And ultimately it provides to the sensation of escapism that pokemon provides us all, because when you are working for a legitimate shiny you value the experience and the game much more than if you're an injecting faggot bitch, especially one that denigrates the legitimate players.

Either you use smeargle, or you lead with any old Foresight mon, one that can tank at least one hit. Followed by DAMP Parasect, though you might want something faster. If you use Parasect, make SURE it doesn't have Effect Spore.

I used Parasect when I hunted for Latios, but that was easier to prepare for due to its low level and not being a ghost.

The problem with that is you have no way to keep putting the foe to sleep. Simply put, sleep means the enemy uses less PP overtime due to being asleep and is strongest for catching, giving you more time to catch it
