We’re back again with all of this week’s updates from Project VPMAGG aka Pokemon Sage! For those that have missed out on the previous threads, the idea behind Sage Sunday is to give proper updates to the anons who worked on the game or were interested in playing the game by releasing weekly threads that showcase all the development for the game in the previous week and by taking feedback, criticism, suggestions and questions from the community. Here’s what’s on the slate for this week:

Considering where we are in terms of development, i.e nearing 2.0 completion, there aren’t many substantial updates we can deliver on a consistent weekly basis without repeating ourselves. That’s why there haven’t been Sage Sundays for the past two weeks definitely not because I’m lazy. However, given the two week absence we’ve come up with some cool New™ art, some great spritework, confirmed some music (and left others in runoff), and made some progress on dialogue and distros. Additionally, the game through Route 4 is almost completely programmed into the game! I’ll have a post dedicated to catching /vp/ up on where every map stands as of now. But before we get to that

- An Eronze admin deadline has been scheduled and will begin surveying immediately after.
- Grunt design HAS BEEN CONFIRMED
- Spriters are making great headway in interiors and retouching battle, overworld and icon sprites.
- All plot events throughout 2.0 have been written and are nearing confirmation.
- Music batch 3 resulted in some confirmations but more runoffs than anything.

People tend to put shinys on a pedestal (understandably so given their encounter rate) but what if the whole idea of shinys were fundamentally different in Sage?
What if they weren't a big deal? Maybe even have a few trainers, gym leaders, npc's and the elite four have one.
Just for variety's sake, you know? To make this feel more distinct from the main series. The only time I remember GF actually using shiny pokes was the red gyarados in gen II.

Every other town has special locations. Legato has a hotel and a saloon. Dronia has a factory and the museum. Future cities are also planned to have plot relivent bulidings as well as special buildings which contribute to the atmosphere of the city.
