Improved a lot. FRLG/Emerald was when Sugimori started to experiment with more dynamic poses and made illustrations with a lot more personality into them. His coloring also got better, and he has just gotten better and better with time.

Yusuke Ohmura did great in BW, but his designs for BW2 were mostly horrible and there was a lot of weird anatomy mistakes and poses. Just what the hell happened?

The character design for young male characters has degraded. The character design for older male characters has improved.

The character design for both young and older female characters has skyrocketed to the point where there are next to none of them that I haven't been able to masturbate to on multiple occasions.

Calem is one of the worst-designed PCs in my opinion. Unlike every other one, there's nothing breaking up his predominantly blue color scheme.
