I never bought it. Which is sort of funny because gen 3 was my favourite gen and I liked the remakes of gen 1 and 2 as well. One of the key reasons gen 3 was my favourite is that it was the peak of 2D visuals in the series, which is something the remake inherently does not capture. Add that to the fact that everyone says it plays shitty too, and I never had any reason to pick it up.

Why do people have such difficulty with this concept? It's not that the old Pokemon games were hard, or that we want Pokemon to be a ball-buster. It's that the new games are so over-the-top easy, rounding off every fucking edge they can identify, that it's a completely trivial experience. You don't need to buy it in order to play it. I'd say the biggest issue with it has less variety wild-mon wise than Emerald. And the post-game mon location-wise don't make ton of sense. Having a Zorua in route 1, or an electric bug in a grassy area. It's all rather random.

Other than that, just pirate the game and play it. I won't defend its flaws, but it really doesn't have many.

It's been lots of fun anon, all the new bottom screen features are great and PPS is great mechanic, so is the DexNav. I've spent easily hundreds of hours in game after the E4 and delta episode, completing a live Dex region by region, trading away breeding rejects, occasionally getting the odd shiny/injectomon over wonder trade.
And the fact that they put in almost every single legendary to catch in game has filled up loads of time too.

GameFreak made it clear once again why I love and everyone else should love Gen 3. I enjoyed ORAS a lot more than I did with X and Y.
