I don't have many fond memories with Kalos, but standing utop the mountain trying to catch a shooting star with the camera will always have a soft spot in my heart. Shame the game wasn't all in 3D.

Man Gen 2 is so comfy but I never want to replay it because I know it'll just ruin my memories of it. Same goes for Gen 3.

Gen 2 was the only one that did day/night well, though 4 was okay. In every other region it barely feels like there's any difference.

Hopefully SM's theme will make the day/night system get off its ass again.

Did any games after Gen 2 even have the Morning-Day-Night cycle? I remember Kalos had mega stones you had to collect during a certain hour and there were the FUCKING lake trio in ORAS, but were there any real changes in the game? I like gen IV the most because of the music changes.

But Lacunosa town is my favorite night place, the people going back to their homes and the music just make the night so peaceful that I wish the other games had people moving from places between day/night.

Gen 4 brought it back, even adding music that changes depending on the time of day.

Gen 5 and 6 still have the aesthetic changes but none of the features like time-specific encounters or time-sensitive music. Gen 6 also heavily brightens the night look so it's barely noticeable.
