This is all correct. No memes allowed
>>26011592
Wrong. The Japanese use "X" to make a "K" or "C" sound. Example: Digimon Xross Wars "Cross Wars". There are countless other examples too.
Kerneas is the correct way.

No its based on an animal and animals live in the zoo so its pronounced azoorill

I generally don't like the way the anime pronounces some Pokemon's names, so I don't really regard them. It doesn't matter much anyway since I don't say these aloud basically ever.
Fun facts about actual pronounciations, according to Pokedex 3d (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Loz61U6CuE):
>Marill is not pronounced like Azumarill. One is mar-ill, the other is a-zoo-ma-rill.
>Metagross is pronounced me-tah-gross, not me-tah-grouse.
>Rayquasa is prounced like quasar. As in, ray-quay-sa
>Phione is actually three syllables. Phee-oh-nay. Basically like as if it was Japanese.
>Palkia is pronounce pal-key-ah. So no, OP was not accidentally right.
>Arceus is pronounced Ark-eus. At least that one was more debatable during Gen4, because some sources pronounced it ar-see-us (including PBR, I believe)
>Reuniclus is ree-you-knee-clus.
>Hydreigon is hi-dragon.
>Kyurem is q-rem. I really didn't know that.
>>26011891
>Hydreigon is hi-dragon.
Bullshit. Wrong. Nope.
Everyone knows its a combo of Hydra, Hydrogen, and Dragon.

>>26011628
First of all no they don't you fucknut. Genesect is pronounced with a soft G in English and a hard G in Jap.
Second it's pronounced ZERNEAS in the fucking Japanese version of the show and movies. It's also basic fucking linguistics.
>>26011628

They absolutely do not! They've got very SIMILAR names, but they're spelled and pronounced differently.
>>26011918
How the fuck do you get "gen" out of "gon?" Where did you even get hydrogen? It's "dray" as in drei, as in German for three. Hy-dray-gon.
>>26011918
>Everyone knows its a combo of Hydra, Hydrogen, and Dragon.
Where the hell are you getting 'hydrogen' from? Hydreigon has nothing to do with hydrogen.
Also, you can watch the video if you don't believe me.

>"Cross-ern-ee-us"

>>26012029
Hydreigon's color scheme is LITERALLY based on Hydrogen in it's plasma state.
>>26011891
I'm not ever going to say Rayquaza like that no matter how official it is or what word it relates to--it sounds like total shit.
>>26012056
plus its evolution is Atmosvier and is covered in a cloud, so obviously there is some air/hydrogen relation there.

>>26012088
in what weird way were people like you pronouncing it?
>>26011891
I was with you until Hydreigon. Isn't it pronounced hi-dry-gon? Hi as in hydra, dry as in drei (german for 3), and gon as in dragon.
>>26012056
Well dang, you got me there Anon. Yes, if you take this blue/purple/white light and replace the white with black, you definitely get the colour of Hydreigon. Clearly that means it must absolutely be based on hydrogen, and pronounced like it too instead of being pronounced like dragon.
Frankly, The Pokémon Company was silly not to know how to pronounce the name that The Pokémon Company gave it.
>>26012317
Yeah, it is. I didn't notice it until listening more carefully, but it's dry-gon, not dra-gon. A slight difference, but a difference nonetheless.
>>26012168

hydra
drei (three in german)
dragon
That hydrogen stuff is most likely just a coincidence.
>why would it be three? it's just a coincecendses!!!!!
Deino > ein, 1
Zweilous > zwei, 2
Hydreigon > drei, 3
Also, the german and french names for Hydreigon are
>Trikephalo
>Trikephalo
>Tri
It's done on purpose.
>>26012784
Also, forgot to mention
this means the correct pronunciation is "ei" as in "either" in British English.
>>26012168
like Ray-Kwanzaa but without the "n" sound or Ray-quasi but with a schwa instead of long "i" sound. Ray-KWAH-zuh. It sounds a lot better to me.

>>26012797
>this means the correct pronunciation is "ei" as in "either" in British English.
Drei is German, and is pronounced "dry".
So it would be
"High" "Dry" "Gone".
>>26012830
But it's not. Hydreigon has nothing to do with that!
>>26011514
Bait. OP must be new with bait this bad.
>>26012828
Yep, I guess that's a better way to point it out, since there's no other pronunciation for dry.

>>26012830
>>26012784
Of course, you all could be right.
Clearly "hydra", "drei", and "dragon" are parts of the name, but its not out of the question that "hydrogen" could be part of it.
Regardless, its still pronounced "hi dry gon".

You southern redneck piece of shit.
Nai-doh-ran should be Nee-doh-ran.
The "ma" in Machop and its line's names should be pronounced like "macho" not "match".
Soo-ih-soon should be Swee-coon.
Skep-tile should be Sep-tile.
Gar-de-vwah-r should be Gar-de-vwah.
Rehj-ice should be Reh-jee-ice.
Fee-ohn should be Fee-ohn-ee.
Hy-dray-gon should be Hy-dry-gon.
Vih-vill-on should be Vee-vee-ohn.
Zai-gard should be Zee-gard.
Arceus could go either way. The Japanese name suggest it should be Ar-see-us, but the anime pronounces it Ar-key-us.
Rayquaza could also go either way. Ray-kwa-za is a more natural reading, but the anime pronounces it Ray-kway-za. The Japanese name, Rekkuza, doesn't help in this case, because it's too dissimilar. Quasars have nothing to do with the sky or Rayquaza so I don't see why people always bring them up when talking about Rayquaza's name.
>>26011628
