XY is surprisingly good overall. I'm glad it's been rather standalone so far. Blue appeared recently but I'll pretend it's just a semi-important cameo and has nothing to do with continuity.

Personally, I pretend HGSS was the end of it all. The continuity is just too fucked like how the flying fuck HGSS can happen at the same time as ORAS except this makes no fucking sense because at the end of Platinum we get confirmation that HGSS happened before DPP.

Red and Blue/Green chased after them, and Mega Evolved their starters to deal with Archie and Maxie's Mega Evolved signature mons (and won).
Archie and Maxie then proceeded to Primal Revert Groudon and Kyogre, and swept the floor with those two.

We still don't know the origins of this new Archie and Maxie. Yet.

I get where you're coming from, but for me, BW was almost too much of a disconnect. It's still one of the best arcs, but I personally preferred DPPt. They were also isolated from the main dexholder group, but not completely severed. It was nice to see a few references to events here and there, as well. Plus, they functioned pretty well as a cohesive group.

Reminder that Y has catched freaking Xerneas, Malva has catched Yveltal, and that post-game girl with helmet has catched Zygarde.

Krys rubs me the wrong way because throughout all of the Crystal arc it seemed like she was just taking everything for granted and was just handed stuff because fate says she should be handed stuff. She flips out and gives up when she fails to catch Suicune when none of the gym leaders up to that point had succeeded either, because it's her destiny to be able to catch em all or some shit. Then later she gets handed that Suicune for free literally because destiny says so.

None of her Pokemon have any personality, and with her not needing to fill her party, she didn't need to grow or develop from catching and training them. She ends up the exact same way she started, only with a labcoat/kindergartener's outfit to show for it.

It's hard to explain, but I really don't like Krys.

Let's talk about things that annoyed you in the different arcs:

>Yellow starts off as a pacifist, Blue/Green had to train her but the training doesn't stick because it goes against Yellow's pacifistic ways, yet Yellow wins in her arc by blowing the shit out of Lance and the badges to repel Lugia. Also in FRLG she admits that Blue/Green trained her and she learned from him when she clearly resisted his training
>Silver ends up being a kinda wasted character in the GSC arc. He has a reason to fight, but all his sneakiness and working for Lance doesn't really pay off
>Crys didn't get a rematch with Suicune to prove herself that she understood Suicune better this time
>Green/Blue didn't get much focus in the GSC arc except to show up and explain how she's now over her debilitating bird phobia
>Pryce's plan making no goddamn sense when he didn't even need the Masked Children for his plan, he had to threaten Kurt when Kurt might've been convinced to help him as a friend, and how he was willing to fuck up the future and so many people's lives because he wanted to send his Lapras back with it's family before the avalanche, yet there's nothing that says the avalanche didn't still happen

Dia and Pearl were great, they could have used more screentime in general, but Platinum went from a still pretty quiet but strong-willed girl who's warmed up to Dia and Pearl to being pretty open with her emotions to just about everyone. I know she's developed to where she doesn't have to lie to herself or others, but it seemed like she became TOO open, I guess? Just a personal feeling.

Cyrus grew up in Sunnyshore not understanding the importance of emotions outside of being used as a tool. He figured he was a perfect being because he reigned in his emotion and balanced it with willpower and intelligence, but didn't realize that you didn't have to be balanced in order to have good spirit. Anyways this is kinda deviating away from the creepy point which is his weird posing with Honchkrow for dramatic effect. It was a cross between funny and cringey at times.

The battles she has aren't very interesting, she spends a lot of time out of focus, and she generally just assists in whatever's happening in the plot without doing much herself, which makes everything she does not really matter if she has no claim to fame herself. Even her badge collecting goal is made moot by other trainers (The only thing I think she has now is that she's the youngest to collect badges? Platinum might be younger though).

It's more that she's kinda underwhelming and the new arc isn't really using her well.
