Just play on showdown, low ladder is pretty casual and there's plenty of different battle types to choose from.

If you are pretty good you can play fine with gimmick/nonstandard teams, I usually hang around 1400 using shit like Kecleon and other stuff I like

Problem is there's nothing else to do after the game ends. I used to level my pokemon to 100 grinding at the E4 or chilling at the battle frontier. Somehow there was always some way I could squeeze more hours out on my gameboy.
Worst of all, I already know too much. About EVs and IVs and natures and sets and tiers and all that shit.
