Also, just my input but I think if they made it based off the anime it would be boring whereas a new and original trainer (not edgy) were to just catch pokemon, meet friends, stop the villains, fight a rival and become champion would be neat

Did you see the Pokemon Go trailer? The Pokemon 20th anniversary trailer? Why would they change and go full realistic when they already have a style that works?

i did see the 20th anni commercial and the mons look very out of place and cartoonish compared to the otherwise normal setting. it might not look as bad in a truly pokemon world of a film, but they still had very little weight.
