Sky Forme is just a mess of a design in my opinion. The second I saw it I just got a gut reaction of "fuck this thing", which is a shame because Shaymin is a cutie.

I don't hate Blitzle, I just think it's an ugly design. As Gen V's "Ponyta" it just made me keenly aware of many of the more recent design choices I find off-putting in the last couple of generations. I think it's mainly the head. Thankfully Zebstrika is pretty damn great by comparison (now if only it was great competitively as well).

Barbaracle looks astonishingly close to what it is actually based on. I can't fault it for that.

After learning that the "Swords of Justice" were based on a specific Japanese animated version of the Musketeers, it just deepened my dislike for them, because there were ways they could have done so in a competent manner. Keldeo is the only one even capable of using its horn like a sword in a way that looks like swordfighting, and apparently they realized this too late and just had the anime versions grow giant lightsabers out of their foreheads.

They're failed concepts in almost every respect.

Magmortar is a shitty pokemon, nobody is going to debate you there.

The thing with Heatran is that while his concept is not completely stupid the concept had been used for a prior legendary, Entei, and afterwards for another legendary Volcanion? Slugma, Magcargo and Camerput are all very similar with the whole volcano/magma theme. So the theme it's based on is not original and the execution of the theme is downright awful. It's head is just retarded, there is no other word to describe it, and the spots just look lazy in my opinion. Had they done like a lava pokemon who uses obsidian or similar materials in its environment to give itself fake eyes or something I would have been on board.

That's even without talking about how really it is one of the most forgettable legendaries and its story is basically nonexistent.

is it just me or does snivy's evolutions don't please me? Servine is straight up fucking ugly. I don't really actually, but I had to pick someone and I tried to avoid picking cutesy pokemon like Dedenne etc that I like less because their designs work for what they are I guess. Electric and Grass gave me a fairly hard time. I love Stunkfish he's hilarious.

Definitely the best evolution out of all the Gen 4 ones though by a mile.

IIRC Swalot/Gulpin are based on stomachs, and that they eat literally anything they can from items to living things, while dissolving it with their acidic fluids. Then again, it is from the pokedex so take the details on the eating with a pinch of salt.
