I never understood Darkrai and Cresselia. Are they a duo or what? Dreams and Nightmares? Why the hell is Cresselia moon based but Darkrai some Japanese creature? These two make no sense in general.

Though I always understood the design and see it as another Pokemon inspired by the same thing porygon was inspired by.

Take away a swans legs and replace the wing bones with just mammalian hands connected to her chest. Make the head less avian and the head crests will be similar structure to a cassowary's skull. And there you have it.
