I always think Blissey is from gen 4 even though it's from gen 2 because I never saw one until Platinum

Chinchou and Lanturn I always associate with Dive and Hoenn. Johto Pokemon were typically rare and out of the way.

Skarmory and Slugma only have 5% encounters in gen 2 and there aren't any trainers that use them. Skarmory is also exclusive to Silver while you can't even catch Slugma until you get to Kanto.

It's really not surprising that so many people think both Pokemon are gen 3 Pokemon.

If it weren't for the movie, I'd probably think Phampy/Donphan were 3rd gen pokemon.

Though during XY, I forgot that Carnivine was a 4th gen pokemon. I kept thinking it was a fifth gen pokemon. I could have been mixing it with Maracactus though.
